The Tennessee Bureau of Workers’ Compensation (BWC) is launching the REWARD Honor Roll, a new employer-recognition program highlighting businesses whose return-to-work programs exemplify the REWARD Program's principles. Honorees will be commended as an example that other Tennessee employers should emulate.

“I believe Honor Roll Employers demonstrate Tennessee’s best when it comes to overcoming case-specific challenges that come with returning an injured worker to the workplace,” says Program Coordinator, Suzy Douglas. “They are prepared to mitigate the financial, physical, and mental burdens that often plague injured workers.”

The importance of workplace safety cannot be understated. Implementing a solid and safe return-to-work program minimizes an injury’s impact on both the injured worker and the employer.

Recognition from the REWARD Honor Roll attracts and retains a more talented workforce. Effective return-to-work programs reduce costs and challenges. Also, customers appreciate that a supportive workplace yields better performance and service from a business’s employees. The REWARD Honor Program recognizes that a supportive workplace culture requires more than providing a paycheck.

A list of honorees will be published each January on the BWC website. Honorees will be allowed to use the REWARD Honor Roll logo on their company publications and will also receive a complimentary registration for its RTW Coordinator at the BWC annual education conference.

Any employer site operating within the state of Tennessee can apply here

BWC Administrator, Troy Haley, says, “I am very excited about the rollout of the REWARD Honor Roll. This is a very special program and I hope we can encourage leadership in every Tennessee business to establish a return-to-work culture in their organization.”

Honor Roll Applications are accepted year-round but are due by November 15, 2023, for consideration in the following year’s REWARD Honor Roll list.

With the REWARD Honor Roll, BWC hopes to see many more injured employees returning to work safely, making the Volunteer State’s employers leaders in creating the best state to live and work.
