The Certified Physician Program (CPP) returns November 1, 2023

Online Training for Physicians Treating Workplace Injuries Resumes Soon
Wednesday, October 11, 2023 | 11:49am

The Certified Physician Program (CPP) will resume normal operations on November 1, 2023. At that time, physicians will be able to complete the online “Best Practices for Treating and Evaluating Injured Workers” learning module and apply for an appointment to the CPP Registry.  Completion of the module, coupled with an appointment to the Registry, will allow physicians to charge and collect higher fees for treating patients who suffered compensable work-related injuries.

Physicians appointed prior to the recent pause will begin their term anew on November 1, 2023. On that date, they will also be eligible to receive the enhanced fees in accordance with the Medical Fee Schedule.

The “Best Practices for Treating and Evaluating Injured Workers” course is free and self-paced. The Bureau’s goal is to create a statewide network of physicians trained in workers' compensation best practices to better help injured workers achieve a faster recovery focused on returning to work.
