NASHVILLE – The Tennessean newspaper in Nashville has once again named the Tennessee Bureau of Workers’ Compensation (BWC) one of the top workplaces in the Middle Tennessee area. This is the third time the BWC has earned a ranking on the newspaper’s list.

Each year, the Tennessean teams up with Energage, a top industry research company, and conducts a survey to determine the best large, midsize, and small employers to work for in Middle Tennessee.

“We were named a Top Workplace in Middle Tennessee in each of the three years we participated because we have the ‘top’ people, not only in Middle Tennessee but across the state,” said Abbie Hudgens, BWC Administrator. “Our commitment to service and always believing in better define us and are what makes me grateful to be part of the BWC. Kudos to everyone.”

The newspaper selected 106 employers as having top-tier workplaces. The award is based on feedback from employees who participated in the survey.

“Our employees really knocked it out of the park this year, just like last year and the year before. They have put their time, heart, and soul into their work under difficult circumstances,” said Troy Haley, Director of BWC Legal Services. “Their enthusiasm and determination have paid off. I am so happy for them. Congratulations to all our great employees on this achievement. I know there will be more to come.”

The award highlights exceptional workplace environments that create a desirable culture, that are innovative, and have transparent business practices that empower employees.

“We have been recognized as a Top Workplace for three consecutive years. When you think about what our workplace looked like three years ago and compare it to today, the only component that is similar is our people,” said Jeff Francis, BWC Assistant Administrator. “Receiving this recognition highlights what our employees accomplish for the people of Tennessee every day, their commitment to being the best, and their ability to be flexible and deliver outstanding results no matter the circumstances.”

BWC has 135 employees in eight offices across Tennessee. For the Top Workplaces survey, 105 employees submitted 344 comments regarding BWC’s culture and work environment.
