The proposed rules clarify and refine case management regulations in Tennessee's workers' compensation program. These proposed changes include clearer requirements for case manager and assistant qualifications, increased clarity on case management responsibilities, and updated guidelines for virtual meetings and record-keeping.
The committee hears disputes on medical bill payments between providers and insurers and advises the administrator on issues relating to the medical fee schedule and medical care cost containment in the workers’ compensation system.

Due to severe flooding, the Tennessee Supreme Court extended deadlines for cases in the First, Second, Third, and Fourth Judicial Districts. This extension also applies to Workers' Compensation Appeals Board and Court of Workers' Compensation Claims cases arising within those districts.

The Tennessee Bureau of Workers' Compensation is proud to announce Dr. Jeffrey Hazlewood as the recipient of the 2024 Sue Ann Head Award for Excellence in Workers' Compensation. Named after Sue Ann Head, who led the Tennessee Workers' Compensation Division for over 30 years, the award honors individuals who have made significant contributions to the well-being of Tennessee workers and the overall strength of the state's workers' compensation system.
