Seven of the ten fastest-growing occupations with 1,500 or more employment are in health-related fields. The fastest occupational growth will be for physical therapist assistants with an annual average rate of 4.6 percent and projected employment of 3,630. Rapid growth is expected also for physical therapists (3.95 percent), home health aides (3.90 percent), and nurse practitioners (3.47 percent).

Overall, the Tennessee economy is showing signs of growth in goods-producing, as well as service-providing sectors.  The continued increase in technology, rebound in manufacturing and construction, and the large presence of the healthcare sector are expected to offer a variety of jobs for the job seekers.
