John Deere Power Products Receives Commissioner's Safety Award

NASHVILLE - Tennessee Department Tennessee Department of Labor & Workforce Development Commissioner Burns Phillips announced that John Deere Power Products in Greeneville was chosen to receive the Commissioner’s Award of Excellence for Workplace Safety.

"John Deere Power Products has demonstrated strong commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy workplace," said Steve Hawkins, TOSHA Administrator, who presented the Commissioner’s Award of Excellence to the company today. “The evaluation criteria for this award are challenging, and this company has worked extremely hard to meet and exceed the standards the award requires.”

“We are once again pleased and honored to receive this award,” said Jeff Hollett, John Deere Power Products Factory Manager. “Safety is very important to us at John Deere Power Products. While the work is never complete, we work with our associates to try and make our factory one of the safest places to work.” 

The Commissioner’s Award of Excellence honors Tennessee employers and employees who meet a required number of hours without workplace injuries serious enough to cause an employee to miss a day of work. The number of hours required is based on the size of the company.

John Deere Power Products manufactures lawn-mowing equipment. The facility has qualified for the Commissioner’s Award by working more than 1,148,560 hours without a lost time workplace injury or illness.
