Information collected and disseminated by the division is used by safety and health professionals, policy analysts, employers, and researchers and aids in identifying work hazards and high risk industries and occupations. This, in turn, leads to promotion of safer work practices, improvement in safety equipment and identifies new areas for safety research.

The purpose of the supplement is to provide employers with up-to-date annual average labor force information for the state, metropolitan areas, and counties for developing affirmative action plans. It is to be used in conjunction with the Affirmative Action Data publication.
