Know Before You Go!
Motorists are urged to use caution and obey reduced speed limits in work zones across the state. TDOT provides several tools to assist motorists with current road conditions.
TDOT SmartWay provides real-time traffic information on highway incidents, construction activities, and weather-related road conditions, where workers may be present, and includes streaming traffic cameras, messages displayed on overhead Dynamic Message Signs, and speed data.
Tennessee 511 also provides motorists with travel information using an automated voice response system (by phone). Travelers can dial 511 from any landline or cellular phone for statewide travel.
