NASHVILLE - On behalf of the Department of Safety and Homeland Security, let me extend our condolences to the victims and families that have suffered this horrific tragedy that no one should have to face.

I want to also extend my condolences to my colleague, the Governor’s Homeland Security Advisor of the State of Florida, as they recover from the devastation that occurred at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School.

Our Homeland Security Agents train citizens every day at no cost to “Run, Hide, or Fight” during an active shooter situation. I am stunned once again that evil has struck.  My heart is with Florida.”

The Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security’s (www.TN.Gov/safety) mission is to serve, secure, and protect the people of Tennessee.
