Full Service Center to Open at Hickory Hollow Complex in Nashville

NASHVILLE – The Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security announced the Centennial and South East Driver Services Centers will merge in to a new, larger center as part of an effort to improve effectiveness and efficiency with the state’s driver license services.

The Centennial Driver Services Center, located at 6604 Centennial Boulevard and the South East Reinstatement Center located at 1601 Murfreesboro Road will stop serving customers at the close of business on Wednesday, December 30th.  The new Hickory Hollow Center located at 5216 Hickory Hollow Parkway will serve middle Tennesseans beginning Monday, January 4.  Staff from the two locations will be transferred to the new center.

“For years we have faced concerns about the size and conditions of centers in Davidson County,” Commissioner Bill Gibbons said.  “We understand those concerns. This new, larger, and improved center will result in improved services for Nashville area citizens.”

The new center, opening Monday, January 4, has adequate space to provide full driver services and offer a quality environment. The center will be equipped to serve all customers in an efficient and timely manner.

The Hickory Hollow Center will serve customers from 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (CDT), Monday through Friday. The Driver Services Division is responsible for testing and issuing driver licenses as well as offering voter registration and issuance of driving records.

This facility is a full-service center offering driver license, identification license, motor vehicle records, vision testing, knowledge and skills testing, and handgun carry permits.  The Hickory Hollow center will also serve as a driver license reinstatement center.

The Driver Services Division also offers stand-alone kiosks to better serve Tennesseans.  Kiosks located at the Metro Police West Nashville Precinct on Charlotte Avenue, Davidson County Clerk’s Office, Nashville Public Library-Goodlettsville and the Tennessee Tower, offer a more convenient way to renew or replace a driver’s license.  Tennessee State University has become the newest partner that plans to install a kiosk on campus in the near future.

The mission of the Driver Services Division is to promote safe, knowledgeable, and competent drivers in the State of Tennessee.  For a full listing of center and kiosk locations, visit our website at www.tn./gov/safety and click on our Driver Services' Locations page.
