Courtney Swim Boynton is the deputy commissioner and chief operating officer at the Department of Revenue. In this role, Courtney oversees the department’s customer-facing operations, including Audit, Collection Services, Taxpayer Services, and Vehicle Services. She also oversees the the department’s Human Resources, Legislation, Research, and Tax Policy divisions.

Boynton joined the department in 2017 and has held roles of increasing responsibility, including assistant general counsel, legislative director, and, most recently, chief of staff.

A native of Kentucky, Courtney received her bachelor’s degree in business administration from Belmont University in Nashville and her J.D. from Northern Kentucky University.
