Colonel Chris Patterson is the Commander of the 230th Sustainment Brigade headquartered in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Col. Patterson is the former Deputy Commander & Executive Officer of the 230th Sustainment Brigade.
His other previous key assignments include; Battalion Commander, 176th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, Johnson City, TN; Brigade Support Operations Officer, 230th Sustainment Brigade, Chattanooga, TN; Operations Officer 130th Rear Area Operations Command, Oneida, TN; Battalion S4, 176th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion Johnson City, TN; Company Commander, 730th Quartermaster Company, Johnson City, TN.
In 2003, Col. Patterson deployed to Iraq as commander of the 730th Quartermaster Company, embedded within the 24th Corps Support Group directly supporting the 3rd Infantry Division and operational combat elements in the march to Baghdad. COL Patterson also deployed for domestic operations support to serve as the 176th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion Supply Services Officer in support of Operations Katrina (2005), Operation Iraqi Freedom (2007) and Operation Gustav Relief (2008).
Col. Patterson was born in Nashville, TN and is a graduate of the University of Tennessee-Martin (Bachelors Degree- Political Science), Grantham University (Masters Degree- MBA in Business Administration and Project Management) and the United States Army War College (Masters Degree- Strategic Studies).

Col. Patterson’s civilian employment is as National Program Director of Unified Communications for Sharp Business Systems. He has been married to Jennifer Riddle Patterson for 25 years, and live in Ooltewah, Tennessee near Chattanooga. They have two children; His daughter Ashley (18) is a senior at Ooltewah High School and an exceptional artist, and his son Cole (20) is a Tennessee Army National Guard Combat Medic recently deployed for Operations in Support of Covid-19.
