Brittonya Sparks

Brittonya Sparks is a dedicated and passionate Nurse Practitioner with more than 25 years in healthcare. She had extensive experience in critical care nursing, emergency medicine, and treating opioid disorder in rural East TN Brittonya earned an Associate of Science in Nursing, a Master of Science in Nursing in Leadership and Management, and a Post-Masters degree specializing in Family Nurse Practitioner from Tennessee Technological University, Walden University, and Chattahoochee College. Presently, she serves as the Director of Clinical Services for New Direction Health Care Solutions, Inc. (ND), Knoxville, TN.  ND serves the sixteen, East Tennessee area. 

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Brittonya served as a Crisis NP in NY, working on the team that developed the algorithm for triaging COVID-19 patients. She also provided frontline crisis care in NY and COVID-19 vaccinations in her local community. She has dedicated her career to serving underserved communities and ensuring that all individuals have access to the healthcare they need.

Brittonya has held a variety of positions in the healthcare industry, including Clinical Director, Clinical Supervisor, Clinical Nurse Specialist, and Adjunct Faculty. She has also worked in nursing  and  administrative positions at Tennova Physician’s Regional Medical Center, UT Medical Center, and WellStar Health.

In addition to her work in the community and travel nursing during the pandemic, Brittonya has made significant contributions to science. She created a survey to improve patient outcomes in a crisis stabilization unit at a local hospital, which was adopted as a standard for admission and discharge for the unit. Brittonya has serves as a data reporter for vaccine records and Subject Matter Expert for Faith Leaders Initiative.

Brittonya is affiliated with the American Nursing Association, American Nursing Credentialing Center, American Association of Nurse Practitioners, and Sigma Theta Tau (Nursing Honors Association). She holds multiple certifications and licenses, including Multi-State Licensure, DEAX, SAMHSA certification, BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIH research training certification.

As a dedicated healthcare professional with a commitment to providing high-quality, compassionate care to all patients, Brittonya is making a positive impact in the lives of her patients and the communities she serves.
