NASHVILLE, TN— The Office of Inspector General (OIG) announced the Judicial Diversion agreement of Jennifer Love, 45, of Lebanon, Tennessee, for Attempted TennCare fraud.

An investigation revealed that Ms. Love withheld information regarding her employment and income when applying for TennCare benefits. If she had accurately reported her financial situation, she would not have qualified for TennCare from the time of her initial application in May 2019.

As part of the Judicial Diversion agreement, Ms. Love pleaded guilty to Attempting to Commit TennCare Fraud, which is a Class E felony. She was sentenced to one year of supervised probation and ordered to pay $48,676.71 in restitution to TennCare, which she has paid in full.

Wilson County District Attorney General Jason Lawson handled the case, with assistance from Assistant District Attorney Javin Cripps.

“Fraudulent use of TennCare not only impacts the program financially, but it also erodes public trust”, said Inspector General Chad D. Holman. “The OIG will continue to work diligently with our partners to ensure TennCare is preserved for those who genuinely qualify.”

Through the OIG Cash for Tips Program established by the TN Legislature, Tennesseans may qualify for cash rewards for TennCare fraud-related tips that lead to conviction(s).
