Welcome New Employees!

We are so very excited that you have joined our F&A family & we want to make sure you get settled in as smoothly as possible!
Before you visit the new hire resources at the bottom of the page, please take a moment to watch the video from our Commissioner and read the advice from ELT members below.

We asked a few ELT Members this question, “If you could go back in time to the first day you started with the State, what advice would you give yourself?”  They replied:

  • "Take time to meet people outside your immediate team. The contacts you build in your first year will become your greatest resource as you move through your state career." -Trena Maynard
  • "Be willing to learn from others – regardless of where you’re at in your career (new or seasoned), and don’t forget that attending a meeting isn’t always about what you’re going to get out of it, but what you can contribute. Be intentional about creating time to work on things instead of only focusing on being in meetings." -Adam Jarvis
  • “I would tell myself to be patient and play the long game. Public service is a marathon, not a sprint. What really shapes your impact are the relationships you build, the trust you earn, and the steady way you show up when things get difficult. I'd also remind myself that behind every budget decision, policy discussion, or line in a spreadsheet are real Tennesseans who depend on us.” –Eugene Neubert
  • "Bring a list of acronyms with you everywhere. Learn the system, not just your job. Build relationships before you need them." -Kristin Darby
