XSYS Welcomed Into Tennessee Green Star Partnership
The Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC) has welcomed XSYS of Morristown as the newest member of the Tennessee Green Star Partnership.
The Tennessee Green Star Partnership is an environmental leadership program that recognizes manufacturers across the state committed to sustainability and exhibiting continuous improvement in their operations.
XSYS manufactures rubber plates for printing companies and has been in operation since 1999.
“XSYS is reducing waste and showing a strong commitment to sustainability,” said TDEC Commissioner David Salyers. “The Tennessee Green Star Partnership program recognizes manufacturers who show exceptional performance in this area, and XSYS is worthy of this recognition. We welcome it into this partnership.”
XSYS has consistently demonstrated a strong commitment to environmental sustainability, beginning with the achievement of ISO 14001 certification in 2018. Since then, the Morristown facility has made remarkable progress – reducing waste generation by 97 percent, significantly decreasing the volume of material sent to local landfills.
The facility has implemented water reuse practices within its cleaning processes, substantially lowering its overall water consumption and preserving this vital natural resource. Beyond operational improvements, facility personnel actively extend their sustainability values into the community by regularly participating in environmentally focused events and initiatives.
To qualify for membership in the Tennessee Green Star Partnership, manufacturers must meet several key criteria. They must operate under ISO 14001 certification – a voluntary environmental management standard developed by the International Organization for Standardization – or maintain an environmental management system that aligns with ISO 14001 principles. Applicants must demonstrate a minimum of three consecutive years of exemplary environmental compliance with TDEC and show a clear commitment to continuous operational improvement.
