Derrick Freeman

For some, art is a hobby. For Derrick Freeman, it’s a voice. 

During Autism Awareness Month, we celebrate Derrick's talent and his ambition to never let his diagnosis define him. Derrick has already created more than 2,000 pieces of art and shows no signs of slowing down. 

You can also find Derrick bringing his creativity and dedication to the team at Muse Knoxville. Recently, Derrick had the honor of speaking at DDA's 2025 Expect Employment Report, where he shared his perspective on the importance of inclusive hiring with Governor Bill Lee.  

Derrick's next goal: open his own art studio, where he and other artists with autism can create and showcase their work!
