Office of the General Counsel

The Office of the General Counsel for Tennessee Department of Military provides legal counsel to the Adjutant General and the department’s major components, including the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency. The Office of the General Counsel also provides legal representation in administrative litigation affecting the Department, drafts departmental rules, and prepares legislation for the Department, as well as analysis of any proposed legislation affecting the Department. Further, the Office of General Counsel is responsible for legal review of claims, workplace harassment investigations, TEMA disaster issues, contracts and grants, open records requests, and real property transactions.
