How to Apply
The selection of the resident is a joint responsibility of the UT College of Pharmacy and the Tennessee Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services. Interested applicants must apply through the ASHP PhORCASTM system.
Required application materials include the following:
- Letter of intent including short and long term goals as well as why you are interested in this residency
- Curriculum Vitae
- Three professional letters of recommendation or standardized PhORCASTM references.
- Official college/school of pharmacy transcripts
Application materials are due January 7th of each residency year. Completed applications are reviewed by the Residency Selection Committee and applicants are contacted to arrange an interview if selected.
Residency applicant screening process
The following criteria will be used to determine an applicant’s eligibility to interview. After interviewing, all applicants must participate in the National Matching Services program (i.e. the Match) to be selected.
- Currently licensed or eligible for pharmacist licensure in Tennessee
- Graduate of or currently enrolled in final year of an ACPE accredited college/school of pharmacy with expected graduation date prior to June 30th.
- Averaged GPA of greater than 3.0 based on college/school of pharmacy transcripts
- All required residency application materials received by January 7th.
- APPEs (or other professional activities) in areas relating to psychiatric pharmacy practice, managed care, or government operations
