DISTRICT 27

CUMBERLAND COUNTY I-40 Construction of a truck climbing lane EB near MM 339, including grading, drainage, and paving: Construction signs, guardrail (westbound), and portable barrier rail (eastbound) have been installed. The contractor has begun grade work in the median behind portable barrier rail. Motorists are encouraged to slow down, use caution, and be aware of construction personnel in the work zone and equipment that will entering/exiting the roadway. Estimated project completion date is June 2020.

CUMBERLAND COUNTY SR-1 (US-70) Emergency slope stabilization near LM 26.6: Construction signs, portable barrier rail, and temporary traffic signals have been installed. SR-1 (US-70) will be reduced to one lane traffic between Godsey Road and Renegade Mountain Parkway while slope stabilization is in process.  Estimated project completion date is November 2019.

CUMBERLAND COUNTY SR-1 (US-70) Resurfacing from east of Pomona Road (LM 8.89) to west of SR-24 (US-70N) (LM 13) and on SR-28 (US-127) from south of Sawmill Road (LM 8.9) to north of SR-392 (LM 12.74) and on SR-392 from north of Old Mail Road (LM 1.9) to SR-28 (US-127) (LM 2.78): Construction signs have been installed. The contractor is paving on SR-1 (US-70S) and milling on SR-28 (US127) and SR-392 (Miller Avenue). Flaggers will be used for temporary lane closures. Motorists can expect delays during these paving activities and should remain alert for construction personnel/equipment working on the roadway.  Estimated project completion date is September 2019.

CUMBERLAND COUNTY SR-101 (Peavine Road) Grading, drainage, and paving from Firetower Road to Westchester/Catoosa Boulevard: As grade work progresses, motorists should remain alert for shifts in traffic patterns to allow for construction activities. The posted speed limit has been reduced from 45 MPH to 35 MPH within the work zone. Temporary lane closures and traffic stoppages may be needed to support ongoing work. Lane and/or road closures may be needed within Fairfield Glade to allow installation of storm drain and relocation of utilities. Motorists should reduce speeds on Peavine Road and be alert for construction personnel/equipment entering and exiting the roadway.  Estimated project completion date is November 2020.

FENTRESS COUNTY Rotten Fork Road over Rotten Fork of the Wolf River Bridge Replacement: The contractor is currently working on the new bridge at Rotten Fork Road at LM 0.135. Rotten Fork Road remains open to traffic while the new bridge is being constructed. Motorists are advised to use caution and watch for construction equipment adjacent to roadway. Estimated project completion date is November 2019.

FENTRESS COUNTY SR-28 (US-127) Resurfacing from south of Davis Road to north of SR-52 and from north of Lacy Road to north of Mustang Lane: The contractor is scheduled to be on site removing existing pavement markings and installing construction signs to prepare for upcoming resurfacing work. The contractor will have SR-28 reduced to one lane in each direction to perform this work. During this operation, flaggers will be used to facilitate traffic flow around the work zone. Motorists are encouraged to obey posted speed limit signs and watch for construction personnel and equipment in the roadway. Estimated project completion date is September 2019.

FENTRESS COUNTY Vines Ridge Road over Big Laurel Creek Bridge Replacement: Vines Ridge Road remains closed at LM 1.06 and will remain closed until the new bridge is constructed. Approximate date for the length of closure is 08/31/19. Motorists should seek an alternate route around Vines Ridge Road near the location of construction. Estimated project completion date is November 2019.

FENTRESS AND OVERTON COUNTY SR-85 Emergency slide repairs at various locations:   The roadway is closed from LM 18.4 to LM 22.4 in Overton county. SR-85 is also closed in Fentress County between LM 5.75 and 8.00. The contractor is continuing work on this contract in the two areas listed where the roadway is closed. Motorists are encouraged to use caution and seek alternate routes. Estimated project completion date is January 2020.

JACKSON COUNTY SR-53 Resurfacing from the Smith County line (LM 0) to north of New Salem Road (LM 9.02), including repair of the bridge over Flynn's Creek (LM 7.84): The contractor is scheduled to be on site beginning 08/08/19 to install construction signs. Paving operations should begin the following day. During paving operations, the contractor will use flaggers to reduce the roadway to one lane. Motorists are encouraged to obey posted speed limit signs and watch for construction equipment in the roadway. Estimated project completion date is September 2019.

JACKSON AND PUTNAM COUNTY SR-53 Resurfacing in Jackson County from north of SR-135 to the Clay County line and on SR-56 from north of US-70N (SR-24) in Putnam County to north of Old Creek Road in Jackson County: The contractor is continuing paving operations. The contractor will have roadway reduced to one lane and will utilize flagging operations to facilitate traffic flow while the work is performed. Motorists are encouraged to use caution through the work zone and watch for equipment and personnel present. Estimated project completion date is September 2019.

OVERTON COUNTY SR-111 Miscellaneous safety improvements at the intersections of SR-293 (LM 3.1 and LM 3.2): The contractor currently has SR-111 from the LM 2.25 to the 3.75 reduced to one lane in each direction. This lane closure will remain in effect until the project is completed. In addition to the lane closure, the speed limit in the work zone has been reduced to 55 MPH for the safety of the traveling public. SR-293 is affected at the intersection of SR-111 with the median crossings being closed for the duration of the project. Motorists are encouraged to use caution and watch for construction operations adjacent to the roadway.  Estimated project completion date is October 2019.

PUTNAM COUNTY I-40 near MM 296 Bridge repair on Rocky Point Road over I-40: Rocky Point Road bridge at LM 10.08 has been opened to traffic. Motorists should expect intermittent flagging operations on Rocky Point Rd throughout the duration of the project. Rocky Point Road bridge at LM 9.31 over I-40 is closed due to bridge repairs, and is expected to re-open in November 2019. A detour is in place to guide motorists around the bridge closure. No lane closures are anticipated on I-40 during this period. Motorists are advised to use caution and be alert to all construction signage while traveling through the work zone.  Estimated project completion date is August 2019.

PUTNAM COUNTY I-40 WB Bridge repair over the Caney Fork River at MM 263: I-40 westbound will be reduced to one lane for bridge repair operations at MM 263 at the Putnam-Smith County line. Motorists should expect delays. Estimated project completion date is September 2019.

PUTNAM COUNTY I-40 WB Resurfacing and bridge repair from Falling Water River (MM 291) to the ramp from US-70N (SR-24) (MM 301): I-40 westbound from mile marker 300 to 291 will have nightly lane closures. Expect night time lane closures, Sunday through Thursday between the hours of 7 PM to 6 AM. The contractor is expected to complete shoulder stone installation and spray sealant on shoulders. Motorists are advised to use caution and be alert to all construction signage while traveling through the work zone.  Estimated project completion date is August 2019.

PUTNAM COUNTY Utility Work on SR-136 (N. WASHINGTON AVE.) in both directions from LM 4.5 to LM 5.4: Utility work will take place between 4th St. and 6th St. Signage, barrels, and cones will be present during this work. Motorists should use caution and be aware of flaggers. Work is expected to continue through 08/31/19 between 9 AM and 3 PM.

PUTNAM COUNTY Utility Work on SR-24 (NASHVILLE HWY.) in both directions from LM 0 to LM 10.15: Utility aerial work will take place along Hwy 70N from the Putnam County line to 1st Ave North. Signage, flaggers, and trucks with warning lights will be present during this work. Motorists are encouraged to use caution when traveling through this area. From 08/08/19 through 09/05/19 between 9 AM and 3 PM.

PUTNAM AND WHITE COUNTY SR-24 Resurfacing in Putnam County from Mill Creek Road to Bee Rock Road and on SR-84 in White County from south of East College Street to the Putnam County line: The resurfacing of SR-84 in White County is complete. The contractor is expected to place pavement markings on SR-24 in Putnam County. Motorists are advised to use caution and be alert to all construction signage when travelling through the work zone.  Estimated project completion date is September 2019.

WHITE COUNTY Utility Work on SR-1 (MEMORIAL HWY.) in both directions from LM 3.53 to LM 3.59: A rolling road block will occur on SR-1 between N. Robin Hood Rd and Paul Rudy Rd. THP will be present. Motorists should be prepared to stop and use caution when traveling through this area. Work will start on 08/05/19 and continue through 08/09/19 between 9 AM and 2 PM.

WHITE COUNTY SR-1 (US-70) Bridge repair over the Calfkiller River (LM 9.35) in Sparta: The Calfkiller bridge in Sparta is in the first of three phases of lane closures. These phases will affect between Wilson Street and Church Street. This first phase will restrict the west bound traffic to one lane, while retaining the left turn lane and two lanes of traffic in the east bound direction. This phase is expected to be completed by August 2019. Motorists are advised to use caution and be alert to all construction signage while traveling through the work zone. Estimated project completion date is September 2019.

WHITE COUNTY SR-1 (US-70S) resurfacing from the Van Buren County line (LM 0) to SR-111 (LM 7.7): The contractor will begin pavement marking removal and resurfacing throughout the project, resulting in temporary lane closures on SR-1 and SR-111. Motorists should use caution when traveling through the work zone and pay attention to all construction signage. Estimated project completion date is September 2019.

BLEDSOE COUNTY SR-101 Bridge repair over Bee Creek (LM 8.98): Work on this project is underway. For the safety of the traveling public, the bridge will be reduced to one 10 foot lane and controlled with temporary signals. RESTRICTIONS: 10 foot lane. Estimated project completion date is September 2019.

BLEDSOE AND SEQUATCHIE COUNTY SR-8 (US-127) from SR-28 (LM 14.9) to SR-111 then SR-28 (US-127) to south of Old York Hwy North (LM 7.9), SR-8 (US-127) from SR-28 (US-127)(LM 14.9) to SR-111 (LM 17.6), and SR-30 from SR-28 (US-127)(LM 10.3) to near Cherokee Ridge Road (LM 13.3): The contractor has begun work in this area. During construction, motorists are encouraged to use caution and watch for construction equipment and personnel in the roadway.  Estimated project completion date is June 2020.

CANNON, MARION, AND WARREN COUNTY SR-96 Resurfacing from the Rutherford County line (LM 0) to the Wilson County line (LM 5), SR-150 (US-41) resurfacing from north of Sequatchie Mountain Road (LM 5.7) to the Grundy County line (LM 13.8), SR-156 resurfacing from east of River Landing (LM 15.5) to east of Nickajack Landing Road (LM 23.1), and SR-287 resurfacing from SR-379 (LM 5.2) to south of Shelbyville Road (LM 10): Resurfacing operations have begun on SR-287 Warren County. SR-150 Marion and SR-96 Cannon County sections have been completed. During construction, the road will be reduced to one lane, flaggers and a pilot car will be used to guide traffic flow through the work zone. Motorists are encouraged to use caution and watch for construction equipment and personnel in the roadway.  Estimated project completion date is September 2019.

COFFEE COUNTY I-24 Resurfacing from Bedford County (MM 96) to Noah Fork Creek (MM 101) including bridge deck repair: Installation of thermo pavement markings will take place Tuesday thru Friday between 9 AM and 3 PM. Pavement marking work will be performed under a mobile operation without any lane closures.  Estimated project completion date is August 2019.

Signage and flaggers will be used. Motorists should use caution. From 05/09/19 through 09/05/19 between 9 AM and 3 PM.

FRANKLIN COUNTY Utility Work on SR-156 (JUMPOFF RD.) southbound from LM 0.15 to LM 2.13: Shoulder closures and intermittent lane closures for utility work along SR-156 (Jumpoff Rd). Signage and flaggers will be present. Motorists should use caution. Work will begin 08/06/19 and continue through 09/20/19 between 9 AM and 3 PM.

FRANKLIN COUNTY SR-50 Resurfacing from east of SR-121 (LM 6.1) to near Dry Creek Road (LM 10.3): The contractor will continue milling operations. There will be a flagging operation to control traffic. Estimated project completion date is November 2019.

GRUNDY COUNTY SR-108 in both directions at LM 23.6: The roadway is reduced to one lane due to a roadway settlement and signalized 24/7 while repairs are being performed.

GRUNDY COUNTY SR-108 Resurfacing from east of Hugh Wooten Road (LM 26) to the Warren County line (LM 31.2): The contractor has completed the paving process. Final operations will take place followed by inspection and punch list items. There will be a flagging operation to control traffic. Estimated project completion date is November 2019.

MARION COUNTY Utility Work on I-24 in both directions from MM 17.44 to MM 17.44: A rolling road block will take place on I-24 between Hwy 28 exit 155 and Fish Trap Rd overpass. THP will be present as well as signage and programmable message boards. Flaggers will also be present at the on the west entrance ramp and the west exit ramp for Hwy 72. Motorists should be prepared to stop and use caution while traveling through this area. Work will occur on Friday (08/09/19) from 10 AM to 12 PM.

MARION COUNTY SR-156 over Running Water Creek (LM 25.58) Bridge rehabilitation: SR 156 will be reduced to one lane controlled by a temporary signal for the duration of the project. Please use caution when traveling through this area. RESTRICTIONS: 10 foot lane. Estimated project completion date is October 2019.

MARION COUNTY SR-156 Repair of a 76" x 67" elliptical corrugated metal pipe culvert on at LM 13.15: The contractor has begun work in this area. The road will occasionally be reduced to one lane controlled by flaggers.  Estimated project completion date is August 2019.

MARION COUNTY SR-2 (US-64, US-72, US-41) Emergency slope stabilization between LM 25.20 and LM 26.40: Work on this project continues. The contractor will continue to maintain one lane open to traffic. At this time traffic signals are installed and will remain in place until project is complete. RESTRICTIONS: No wide loads.  Estimated project completion date is November 2019.

WARREN COUNTY SR-288 Construction of a concrete bulb-tee beam bridge over Collins River (LM 4.97), including grading, drainage and paving: The bridge is currently reduced to one 10.5-foot lane to allow the contractor to construct the new bridge. While the bridge is down to one lane, traffic will be maintained and controlled by a temporary signal. Motorists should expect periodic delays and use caution in the work zone. RESTRICTIONS: 10.5-foot max width. Estimated project completion date is September 2019.

WARREN COUNTY SR-8 over Collins River (LM 8.14) Bridge Repair: The bridge is currently reduced to one 11-ft. lane to allow the contractor to repair the existing bridge. Motorists should expect periodic delays and use caution in the work zone. RESTRICTIONS: 11-ft max width. Estimated project completion date is August 2019.

BRADLEY COUNTY Utility Work on SR-40 (S. LEE HWY.) in both directions from LM 0.20 to LM 0.21: Temporary lane closures for utility work will occur on S. Lee Hwy between Crest Drive SW and Oak Street SW. Signage and flaggers will be present during this work. Motorists should use caution. Work will begin on 07/29/19 and continue through 08/30/19 between 9 AM and 2 PM.

BRADLEY COUNTY SR-60 Resurfacing from north of SR-306 (LM 20.4) to the Hamilton County line (LM 25.1): During this reporting period, the contractor will have daily lane closures from 7:30 AM to 6 PM for the installation of rumble strips and permanent striping. Flaggers will be present in the work zone to assist with traffic control. Estimated project completion date is September 2019.

BRADLEY AND MCMINN COUNTY SR-306 Miscellaneous safety improvements from SR-60 (LM 0) to the Meigs County line (LM 8.58), and on SR-307 from Burnett Road (LM 2.18) to Old Mount Harmony Road (LM 6.07): Work on this project is complete pending punchlist items. The contractor may have intermittent lane closures on SR-306 and SR-307 each day from 8 AM to 5:30 PM to work on cleanup and removal of construction signs.  Estimated project completion date is August 2019.

BRADLEY, MCMINN, AND MEIGS COUNTY Resurfacing on SR-306 and SR-308 in Bradley County, SR-305 in McMinn County, and SR-306 in Meigs County: Work is complete on this project pending punchlist items. The contractor may have intermittent lane closures Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM to work on punchlist items and removal of construction signs. Estimated project completion date is September 2019.

HAMILTON COUNTY I-75 at I-24 Interchange Reconstruction: Crews may continue surveying and spotting utilities at various locations throughout the interchange. Shoulders may be closed at these locations between 9 AM and 3 PM. Additionally, a hauling operation will be taking place requiring a single left lane closure on I-75 SB at MM 2 and a single left lane closure on I-24 EB at MM 185. These lane closures will occur nightly between 9 PM and 6 AM. Haul trucks will be entering and exiting the interstate at these locations. Additionally, traffic pacing will occur 08/11/19 from 9 PM to 6 AM and begin at the following locations: I-24 EB at the Belvoir on-ramp MM 184, I-75 NB at the Cloud Springs Rd on-ramp MM 353, and I-75 SB at the E Brainerd Rd on-ramp MM 4.

HAMILTON COUNTY US-27 (I-124) Widening from I-24/US-27 interchange to north of the Olgiati Bridge over the Tennessee River, including widening the Olgiati Bridge: Work on this project continues with activities occurring on the west side of southbound US-27. A new traffic pattern is in place on US-27 South near 4th St. Motorists wishing to access 4th St. from US-27 South will take a new ramp at the south end of the Olgiati Bridge and turn left onto 4th St. to enter the downtown area. Motorists who normally use 4th St. to access US-27 South from the downtown area will be detoured to M.L.King Boulevard. where they can access U.S. 27 South. Motorists should be alert for construction vehicles entering and exiting the area along the access ramps for east and westbound M.L.King Boulevard. The speed limit for the access ramp is 35 MPH. The southbound ramp from W. Main St.to southbound US-27 has been temporarily closed and will remain so until further notice. Detours are posted. Motorists should pay close attention to the detour signage posted. The speed limit on US-27 in the construction zone remains 45 MPH. Weather permitting; the contractor may implement temporary lane/shoulder closures on weeknights between the hours of 7 PM and 6 AM. At least one lane will remain open in each direction on US-27. Detours for closures will be posted. HAMILTON COUNTY TDOT Maintenance on SR-17 (ST. ELMO AVE.) both directions from LM 0 to LM 2.22: On Tuesday of this reporting period, there will be a lane closed as materials and testing will be taking cores in the roadway.

HAMILTON COUNTY SR-111 Bridge repair over SR-29 (US-27): During this report period, the contractor will have one lane closed in each direction of SR-111 while performing bridge repairs. The contractor will also be closing one lane in each direction on SR-29 as it passes under SR-111. One lane in each direction will be open at all times.  Estimated project completion date is October 2019.

HAMILTON COUNTY SR-153 Resurfacing from north of Shallowford Road (LM 2.6) to north of SR-58 (LM 4.8), including bridge deck repair: Construction sign installation will require lane closures beginning Thursday, 8/8/19 (8 PM to 6 AM). Paving & milling operations will begin Sunday, 8/11/19 and continue through Thursday, 8/15/19. All work will take place between 8PM and 6AM and will require double lane closures in either the NB or SB direction. At least one lane will remain open in each direction during the construction activity. Estimated project completion date is November 2019.

MCMINN COUNTY SR-30, Grading, drainage and paving on SR-30 from Jackson Street to east of Knight Road in Athens: Traffic along SR-30 is in its phase two configuration with all traffic on the former eastbound side, providing one lane in each direction plus turning lanes at critical intersections and businesses. The intersection of SR-39/SR-30 has recently changed to a different configuration. The traveling public should remain alert.  Estimated project completion date is April 2020.

POLK COUNTY SR-30 Resurfacing from west of Tellico Reliance Road (LM 8) to near Greasy Creek Road (LM 13.1): During this reporting period, the contractor will be beginning resurfacing operations. Beginning 8/12/19, motorists should expect long delays on SR-30 between LM 8 and LM 13.1. POLK COUNTY SR-40 (US-64) Repair of bridges over North Potato Creek (LM 26.93): During this reporting period, the contractor will be working on steel bar reinforcement for the eastbound bridge deck. Traffic on SR-40 is reduced to one 12' lane in each direction for the duration of this work. Motorists are advised to reduce speed and use caution in the work zone. RESTRICTIONS: No loads wider than 12 ft. are allowed at LM 26.93 eastbound and westbound. Estimated project completion date is April 2020.

RHEA COUNTY TDOT Maintenance on SR-68 (WASSOM MEMORIAL HIGHWAY) in both directions at LM 5.5: The roadway is reduced to one lane and signalized 24/7 due to roadway settlement.

RHEA COUNTY SR-30 Grading, drainage and paving from west of New Union Road/White Oak Road (LM 12.6) to Sky Drive (LM 12.9): During this report period, the contractor will be performing grading and drainage operations along SR-30 and New Union Rd. During the initial phase traffic will be maintained on SR-30, White Oak Dr. and New Union Rd. in its current pattern. Flaggers will be on-site to assist with heavy equipment entering & exiting existing roadways.  Estimated project completion date is November 2019.

REGION 2 TDOT Maintenance drainage work: There will be possible short-term lane and shoulder closures at various locations in Region 2 in order to clean rock and debris from ditches on an as-needed basis. One lane will be maintained at all times.

REGION 2 TDOT Maintenance pothole repair and pavement patching: There will be possible short-term emergency lane closures at various locations in Region 2 in order to repair potholes and patch pavement on an as-needed basis. Depending on location and severity these repairs may be done during the day or at night. In addition to performing the work, regional Operations crews will also provide traffic control.

REGION 2 Preventative and unscheduled maintenance of Chattanooga SmartWay Intelligent Transportation System: The contractor may have short term shoulder and/or lane closures in order to perform preventative or unscheduled maintenance to the local SmartWay Intelligent Transportation System. Work hours are 9 AM to 3:30 PM. At least one travel lane will remain open to traffic at all times. Flaggers will assist with traffic control as needed. Estimated project completion date is October 2019.

REGION 2 On-call guardrail repair and new guardrail installation on various Interstate and State Routes: The contractor may have short term shoulder and/or lane closures in order to perform guardrail repair. These closures will take place on the interstate nightly from 7 PM to 6 AM Sundays through Thursdays and daily on state routes. At least one travel lane will remain open to traffic at all times on the interstate, and flaggers will be present on state routes during any work that is performed.  Estimated project completion date is June 2020.

REGION 2 Longitudinal joint stabilization on various state routes: During this report period the contractor will have short-term lane closures while applying longitudinal joint stabilizer to various state routes. The contractor will have temporary traffic control measures in place during each closure. Additional flaggers and/or Tennessee Highway Patrol officers may be in place to assist as well.  Estimated project completion date is September 2019.

REGION 2 The relensing of snowplowable pavement markers on various Interstate and State Routes: Contractor will begin relensing operations in Putnam and White Counties during this period. This will result in mobile lane closures on SR-24, SR-56, SR-62, SR-84, SR-96, SR-135, SR-136, SR-141, SR-164, SR-290, and SR-291 in Putnam County and on SR-1, SR-26, SR-84, SR-111, SR-135, and SR-136 in White County. Motorists should use caution when traveling through the work zone and pay attention to all construction signage.  Estimated project completion date is November 2019.

REGION 2 On-call cable barrier repair on various interstate and state routes: The contractor may have short term shoulder closures in order to perform cable rail repair. Both travel lanes will remain open to traffic at all times on the interstate during any work that is performed. Estimated project completion date is December 2019.

REGION 2 On-call signing: On 08/07/19 through 08/09/19, the contractor will be hanging signs at various locations in McMinn, Franklin, and Marion Counties. This work will be done with shoulder closures and will not impact traffic. On 08/08/19 or 08/09/19 a right lane closure will be setup for approximately an hour on SR 8 NB at log mile 0.184 (Ringgold Rd) just North of the Tennessee Georgia border. Flaggers will be on site to help direct traffic. Estimated project completion date is August 2019.

REGION 2 Sweeping and drain cleaning on various interstate and state routes: REGION 2 COUNTY sweeping and drain cleaning on various interstate and state routes: There will be sweeping activity (Sunday through Thursday, 8 PM to 6 AM) on regional interstates and selected state routes. This will be supported by a mobile lane closure operation.  Estimated project completion date is February 2020.

REGION 2 On-call concrete pavement repair at various locations on various Interstate and State Routes: During daytime hours, the contractor will be performing concrete pavement repairs on the Signal Mountain Road On-ramp to US27/SR29 NB. They will be repairing half-width of the ramp at a time leaving a minimum of a 10 foot driving lane open to traffic. On 08/07/19 a right lane closure (lane 3) will be setup on US27/SR29 NB in order to repair a location at the top of the Signal Mountain Road on-ramp. Estimated project completion date is March 2020.

REGION 2 On-call pavement marking and the retracing of pavement markings with spray thermoplastic on various Interstate and State Routes: The contractor will be retracing existing pavement markings in Coffee and Cumberland Counties. This will result in mobile lane closures on SR-64 in Coffee County and on SR-1, SR-24, SR-101, and SR-462 in Cumberland County. Motorists should use caution when traveling through the work zone and pay attention to all construction signage. Estimated project completion date is June 2020.
