CLAY COUNTY SR-53 bridge repair over the Obey River (LM 8.89):   Contractor will not be working this week. Estimated project completion date is August 2018.

CUMBERLAND COUNTY I-40 West near MM 326, construction of a truck climbing lane, including grading, drainage, construction of retaining walls and paving:   Lane closures for completion of punch list items may be required during this period with state trooper support. The newly constructed truck climbing lane and right shoulder have been opened to motorists.  Estimated project completion date is July 2018.

CUMBERLAND COUNTY SR-101 (Peavine Road) grading, drainage, and paving from Firetower Road to Westchester/Catoosa Boulevard:   As grade work progresses, motorists should be alert for shifts in traffic patterns to allow for construction activities. Temporary lane closures and traffic stoppages may be needed to support grade work activities. Motorists should reduce speeds on Peavine Road and be alert for construction personnel and equipment entering and exiting the roadway.  Estimated project completion date is November 2020.

CUMBERLAND AND PUTNAM COUNTY I-40 resurfacing from Putnam County line to near the parking area, and from west of Exit 300 to the Cumberland County line.:   The contractor will be paving eastbound and westbound lanes of I-40 including the ramps at exits (mile markers) 300 and 301. This work will be performed Sunday through Thursday nights from 8 pm to 6 am and will require temporary lane closures with state trooper support.  Estimated project completion date is August 2018.

FENTRESS COUNTY SR-52, SR-154, SR-297 resurfacing (microsurfacing):   Work on this contract has not started yet. Contractor anticipates starting work after the 4th of July holiday period. Routes included in this project are SR-52 from east of US-127 (LM 13.60) to SR-296 (LM 17.62); SR-154 from north of Louvaine Road (LM 6.25) to the Pickett County line (LM 13.48); and SR-297 from SR-154 (LM 0.00) to the Scott County line (LM 8.79).  Estimated project completion date is September 2018.

OVERTON COUNTY SR-52 grading, drainage, signals and paving from near Oakley-Allons Road (LM 6.58) to SR-111 (LM 10.23):   Contractor will be on site paving driveways and performing stone work throughout project. Motorists are encouraged to obey construction signs and watch for construction vehicles. Estimated project completion date is July 2018.

PICKETT COUNTY safety improvements on US-127 (SR-28) from SR-295 (LM 3.37) to the KY state line (LM 7.04):   Contractor has completed work on this project. Final inspection by TDOT will be performed in the next several days.  Estimated project completion date is July 2018.

PUTNAM COUNTY I-40 grading, drainage, construction of two concrete bulb-tee beam bridges, signals and paving at Mine Lick Creek Road (MM 283/LM 15.56) and construction of a State Industrial Access Road (Mine Lick Creek Road) serving Project Victor, including grading, drainage and paving:   Substantial work has been completed on this project and the interchange at Exit 283 is now open to all lanes of traffic. The contractor is currently working to complete remaining work items which may result in temporary lane closures throughout the project during daytime hours. Flaggers will be present to assist with traffic control as needed. Motorists are advised to observe the posted speed limits when entering the work zone and to be alert to construction personnel, equipment and vehicles. Estimated project completion date is July 2018.

WHITE COUNTY US-70 (SR-26) intersection improvements at SR-111 in Sparta:   Work continues on this project. The right lane of SR-26 Eastbound is closed to traffic near the SR-111 northbound off-ramp. The contractor will perform placement of new material along the right side of the SR-111 northbound off-ramp. All motorists will be diverted onto a temporary section of roadway to the left of the existing ramp to provide ease of movement through the work zone. Motorists can expect temporary intermittent lane closures during this time. Motorists should be alert, pay attention to all construction signage, and use extreme caution around construction personnel and equipment.  Estimated project completion date is August 2018.

WHITE COUNTY US-70 resurfacing in Sparta:   Contractor will be installing construction signage on SR-26, SR-1, and SR-84. Flaggers will be present to assist with traffic control as needed. Motorists are advised to observe the posted speed limits when entering the work zone, and to be alert of all construction personnel, equipment and vehicles. Routes included in this project are US-70 (SR-1) from the SR-111 overpass (LM 7.69) to near Luther Road (LM 10.61); US-70 (SR-26) from east of Creekside Place (LM 9.82) to Moore Street(LM 10.79); and SR-84 from US-70 (SR-1) (LM 0.00) to near College Street (LM 0.12).  Estimated project completion date is September 2018.

CANNON COUNTY SR-145 Resurfacing from north of overhead bridge to SR-96, and from US-70S (SR-1) from west of Mears Drive to west of Bragg Street:   During this reporting period the contractor will have daily lane closures during resurfacing operations. Flaggers will be present during all lane closures to assist motorist.  Estimated project completion date is September 2018.

FRANKLIN COUNTY SR-127 the construction of a concrete bulb-tee beam bridge over the Elk River (LM 6.21), including grading, drainage and paving:   Work on this project continues. RESTRICTIONS: bridge will be reduced to one 10.5’ lane and controlled with a temporary traffic signal until further notice. Estimated project completion date is October 2018.

FRANKLIN COUNTY SR-476 bridge repair over the Elk River (LM 3.39) and Hurricane Creek (LM 7.40):   The project is in progress. RESTRICTIONS: The bridge is reduced to one 9’ lane and controlled with a temporary traffic signal until further notice. Estimated project completion date is October 2018.

GRUNDY COUNTY I-24 sliplining of culverts at various locations between mile markers 129 and 134:   The contractor will be working on the sliplining project on I-24 of culverts at various locations between MM 129 and 134. This work will be taking place Monday - Friday 7 AM - 5 PM. During this time there will be no outside shoulder. Estimated project completion date is August 2018.

GRUNDY COUNTY SR-50 slide repair at log mile 9.9:   SR-50 is restricted to one lane with signals. TDOT Maintenance and TDOT Geotech are in the process of finalizing a repair plan. RESTRICTIONS: Reduced to one 12 foot lane. Estimated project completion date is September 2018.

MARION COUNTY I-24 WB resurfacing from the Grundy County line (MM 127) to east of the bridge over Cave Cove Creek (MM 134):   There will be no work performed on this project until 07/08/18. The surface milling and paving will continue on this project. The contractor will have lane closures in order to perform the necessary work. These closures will take place on the interstate nightly with State Trooper support from 7PM Sunday through 6AM Friday. Motorists should use extreme caution and be alert to construction equipment and workers. Safety Personnel will be present.  Estimated project completion date is September 2018.

MARION COUNTY TDOT Maintenance on SR-156 (STATE HWY. 156) both directions from LM 0 to LM 25:   Thursday, 07/05/18/ through Wednesday, 07/11/18, eastbound and westbound, 7 AM – 3:30 PM. Traffic will be reduced to 1 lane in order to cut back overgrown bushes and trees.

VAN BUREN COUNTY TDOT Maintenance on SR-30 (STATE HWY. 30) northbound from LM 16.8 to LM 17.0:   Slide repair operations will continue this week. Roadway is reduced to 1 lane controlled by a traffic light. RESTRICTIONS: Restricted to one lane; 12 ft. lane.  

 

VANBUREN COUNTY SR-111 grading, drainage, and paving from south of Manus Road to south of SR-285 near Double Bridge Road:   The contractor will be addressing punch list items during this report period, which will not affect traffic.  Estimated project completion date is July 2018.

VANBUREN COUNTY SR-30 miscellaneous safety improvements from the Warren County line (LM 0.00) to the Bledsoe County line (LM 22.15):   There will be intermittent lane closures on SR-30 for the installation of new signs, guardrail upgrades, and pavement markings. The contractor will have flaggers present during this work.  Estimated project completion date is July 2018.

WARREN COUNTY SR-288 construction of a concrete bulb-tee beam bridge over Collins River (LM 4.97), including grading, drainage and paving:   The bridge is currently reduced to one 12-ft. lane to allow the contractor to construct the new bridge. While the bridge is down to one lane, traffic will be maintained and controlled by a temporary signal for the safety of the traveling public. Motorists should expect periodic delays and use caution in the work zone. RESTRICTIONS: Reduced to one 12-ft lane.

DISTRICT 29 

 

HAMILTON COUNTY I-75 North Exit 1 interchange reconfiguration project at mile marker 1:   Work on this project continues. There is now only one exit ramp that allows drivers to turn both east and west on Ringgold Road at a signalized intersection. Traffic has been shifted onto the newly constructed portion of Camp Jordan Pkwy., and the intersection (I-75 NB off-ramp and SR-8/Camp Jordan Pkwy.) is now controlled by a traffic signal. Estimated project completion date is July 2018.

HAMILTON COUNTY US-27 (I-124) widening from I-24/US-27 interchange to north of the Olgiati Bridge over the Tennessee River, including widening the Olgiati Bridge:   Work on this project continues with numerous activities occurring in the median of US-27. Motorists should be alert for construction vehicles entering and leaving the left traffic lane in both the northbound and southbound directions. The on-ramp from westbound 4th Street to southbound US-27 may be closed from 7 PM to 6 AM for the installation of storm drainage on Thursday 07/05/18, and Monday night 07/09/18 through Wednesday night 07/11/18. Traffic will be detoured via northbound US-27 to Manufactures Road, then west on Manufactures Road to southbound US-27. Alternate access to southbound US-27 will be at the MLK Boulevard interchange or at Main Street. The 12th Street tie-in ramp to US-27 South has been temporarily closed. This closure will be in place through 09/18. Detours are posted. Motorists should exercise caution when traveling through the construction zone and pay close attention to the detour signage posted. The speed limit on US-27 in the construction zone remains 45 MPH. THP will assist with traffic control on the project as necessary. RESTRICTIONS: Northbound US-27 off-ramp Exit 1C to 4th Street is restricted to a maximum width of 11 Feet. Estimated project completion date is January 2020.

HAMILTON COUNTY Utility Work on SR-312 (MAHAN GAP RD.) eastbound from LM 15.29 to LM 15.29:   EB intersection of Mahan Gap and Snow Hill Road. Repair leaking water valve. Utility Construction signs, Flaggers, and Flagger signage. 7/10/2018 - 8/13/2018 9AM-4-PM.

 

HAMILTON COUNTY Utility Work on SR-8 (TAFT HWY.) northbound from LM 22.66 to LM 22.86:   NB between Stewart Road and Corral Road. Install gas main for new subdivision. Flaggers present and flagger signage. 6/18/2018 -8/17/2018 9AM-3PM

 

HAMILTON COUNTY SR-320 (East Brainerd Road) grading, drainage, installation of signals, construction of seven retaining walls and paving from east of Graysville Road to east of Bel-Air Road:   During this report period, the contractor will have intermittent lane closures between 9AM-2PM. This work may affect either direction of East Brainerd Road or side streets from Graysville Road to Bel-Air Road. Flaggers will assist with traffic control as needed. The contractor intends to shift traffic to final alignment from Morris Hill Road to just East of Banks Road on 07/05/18 and put the traffic signal at Banks into service. The result will be 2 travel lanes in either direction 1 center turn lane and bike lanes in either direction from Morris Hill Road to just East of Banks Road.  Estimated project completion date is July 2018.

POLK COUNTY US-64 (SR-40) construction of a concrete bulb-tee beam bridge over Branch and TOHA Old Line railroad (LM 24.85), including grading, drainage and paving:   There will be intermittent lane closures as the contractor works to cut the embankment for the retaining wall. Pinecrest Road intersection has been closed. There are posted detour signs for residents to get to their homes on Pinecrest Road. This road will be closed during the duration of the construction of the Retaining Wall on US64. During this operation, there will be temporary lane closure. The work should be from 10 AM to 4:30 PM. Estimated project completion date is May 2019.

POLK COUNTY US-64 (SR-40) resurfacing from west of the Ocoee River Recreation Area, Caney Creek take out (LM 13.00) to LM 17.00.:   The contractor only lacks snowplowable markers and shoulder stone. Starting after Memorial Day, the contractor will only have lane closures on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Estimated project completion date is July 2018.

RHEA COUNTY SR-68 slide repair at LM 5:   TDOT personnel and contract crews continue work to repair a section of SR-68 near LM 5 in Rhea County that is currently closed due to a slide. One lane is open to light traffic and controlled by a temporary signal. Estimated project completion date is July 2018.

REGION 2 TDOT Maintenance drainage work:   There will be possible short-term lane and shoulder closures at various locations in Region 2 in order to clean rock and debris from ditches on an as-needed basis. One lane will be maintained at all times.

REGION 2 TDOT Maintenance mowing and brush removal:   There will be possible short-term lane and shoulder closures at various locations in Region 2 in order to perform contract mowing and brush removal on an as-needed basis. In addition to performing the work, regional Operations crews will also provide traffic control.

REGION 2 TDOT Maintenance pothole repair and pavement patching:   There will be possible short-term emergency lane closures at various locations in Region 2 in order to repair potholes and patch pavement on an as-needed basis. Depending on location and severity these repairs may be done during the day or at night. In addition to performing the work, regional Operations crews will also provide traffic control.

REGION 2 on-call guardrail repair on various interstate and state routes:   The contractor may have short term shoulder and/or lane closures in order to perform guardrail repair. These closures will take place on the interstate nightly from 7PM to 6AM Sundays through Thursdays and daily on State Routes. At least one travel lane will remain open to traffic at all times on the Interstate, and flaggers will be present on State Routes during any work that is performed.  Estimated project completion date is July 2018.

REGION 2 preventative and unscheduled maintenance of Chattanooga SmartWay Intelligent Transportation System:   The contractor may have short term shoulder and/or lane closures in order to perform preventative or unscheduled maintenance to the local SmartWay Intelligent Transportation System. Work hours are 9AM to 3:30PM. At least one travel lane will remain open to traffic at all times. Flaggers will assist with traffic control as needed. Estimated project completion date is October 2019.

REGION 2 sweeping and drain cleaning on various interstate and state routes:   There will be mobile lane closures supporting a sweeping operation along regional interstates and highways. This activity will happen Sunday, July 8th through Thursday, July 12Th (8PM - 6AM). Additionally, there will be a drain cleaning operation requiring lane closures along I-75 SB (LM 17.0 to 0.0) during this period.  Estimated project completion date is February 2019.

REGION 2 Longitudinal joint stabilization on various state routes:   The contractor will have short term shoulder and/or lane closures in order to perform longitudinal joint stabilization on various state routes. At least one travel lane will remain open to traffic at all times. Flagger will assist with traffic control as needed. Estimated project completion date is July 2018.

REGION 2 the random on-call pavement marking and the retracing of pavement markings with spray thermoplastic on various Interstate and State Routes:   Work continues on this project. The contractor will be retracing existing striping in Putnam, Overton, and Fentress Counties at night. This will include, at a minimum, temporary lane closures on the following route in Putnam County: I-40; on the following route in Overton County: SR-52; and on the following route in Fentress County: SR-28 (US-127). Mobile lane closures will be present at night on these routes. Motorists should be alert to all construction equipment and personnel and obey all construction signage and messages.  Estimated project completion date is June 2019.
