CLAY COUNTY SR-53 bridge repair over the Obey River (LM 8.89):   Contractor has completed work painting the bridge and no work is currently occurring this week.  Estimated project completion date is August 2018.

CUMBERLAND COUNTY I-40 West near MM 326, construction of a truck climbing lane, including grading, drainage, construction of retaining walls and paving:   The contractor will be paving at night from Sunday June 3rd through Thursday June 7th. Lane closures will be required with state trooper support. The right shoulder of I-40 will be closed for the duration of the project as grade work activities are in progress constructing the truck lane and outside shoulder.  Estimated project completion date is June 2018.

CUMBERLAND COUNTY SR-101 (Peavine Road) grading, drainage, and paving from Firetower Road to Westchester/Catoosa Boulevard:   As grade work progresses, motorists should be alert for shifts in traffic patterns to allow for construction activities. Temporary lane closures and traffic stoppages may be needed to support grade work activities. Motorists should reduce speeds on Peavine Road and be alert for construction personnel and equipment entering and exiting the roadway.  Estimated project completion date is November 2020.

CUMBERLAND AND PUTNAM COUNTY I-40 resurfacing from Putnam County line to near the parking area, and from west of Exit 300 to the Cumberland County line.:   The contractor will be installing construction signs at night beginning Monday June 4th. Lane closures will be required with state trooper support.  Estimated project completion date is August 2018.

DEKALB COUNTY Utility Work on SR-26 (SPARTA HWY.) both directions at LM 21:   No lane closure. Flaggers will be present, minimal stop of traffic to let workers cross the road. DEKALB COUNTY Utility Work on SR-56 (CONGRESS BLVD.) northbound from LM 7.80 to LM 15.73:   NB at intersection of HWY 26 (Broad Street) ending near north end of Hurricane Bridge. FENTRESS COUNTY Utility Work on SR-52 (PENNSYLVANIA AVE.) northbound from LM 16.85 to LM 16.85:   Aerial fiber drop across road on existing power poles. JACKSON COUNTY Utility Work on SR-85 (YORK HWY.) both directions from LM 15.3 to LM 24.3:   Periodic utility work on shoulder from Hwy. 53 junction crossing the Overton County line 0.8 miles for aerial and buried utility installations . Signage with flagger support will be present to slow traffic, but no lanes will be closed. Work will be performed between 7 AM and 5 PM weather permitting. Estimated project completion date is August 2018.

OVERTON COUNTY SR-52 grading, drainage, signals and paving from near Oakley-Allons Road (LM 6.58) to SR-111 (LM 10.23):   Contractor is continuing work paving Phase 2 portion of the project this week. Paving will be ongoing through the remainder of the week. Contractor will use intermittent lane closures on county roads and side streets as necessary, but all traffic will be routed around work or through detours as needed. Motorists are encouraged to obey posted speed limit and pay attention to construction signs through work zone. Estimated project completion date is July 2018.

PICKETT COUNTY safety improvements on US-127 (SR-28) from SR-295 (LM 3.37) to the KY state line (LM 7.04):   Contractor is scheduled to be on site intermittently this week to continue work installing permanent roadway signs. Motorists are encouraged to obey posted speed limit and watch for construction signs. Estimated project completion date is June 2018.

PUTNAM COUNTY I-40 grading, drainage, construction of two concrete bulb-tee beam bridges, signals and paving at Mine Lick Creek Road (MM 283/LM 15.56) and construction of a State Industrial Access Road (Mine Lick Creek Road) serving Project Victor, including grading, drainage and paving:   Substantial work has been completed on this project and the interchange at Exit 283 is now open to all lanes of traffic. The contractor is currently working to complete remaining work items which may result in temporary lane closures throughout the project during daytime hours. Flaggers will be present to assist with traffic control as needed. Motorists are advised to observe the posted speed limits when entering the work zone and to be alert to construction personnel, equipment and vehicles. Estimated project completion date is June 2018.

PUTNAM COUNTY Old Baxter Road bridge repair over I-40 (LM 2.89):   Substantial work has been completed on this project. The Old Baxter Road Bridge over I-40 is now open to traffic. PUTNAM COUNTY SR-135 resurfacing from south of Jackson Street (LM 9.75) to north of SR-290 (LM 11.64):   The contractor is currently working to complete punchlist items. The contractor will utilize temporary nighttime lane closures in one or both directions during this time. WHITE COUNTY US-70 (SR-26) intersection improvements at SR-111 in Sparta:   Work continues on this project. The contractor has installed construction signs and will continue to mobilize equipment on-site. Motorists can expect temporary intermittent lane closures during this time. COFFEE COUNTY Utility Work on SR-2 (MURFREESBORO HWY.) southbound from LM 1.93 to LM 3.38:   SB beginning at intersection of Old US 41 and ending at intersection French Brantly Road. Installation of new aerial fiber. Flaggers present and flagger signage will be used for lane closure. Work to begin 5/28/201/ 9 AM - 3 PM ending 6/22/2018. [UO-2007051151-2018]

 

COFFEE COUNTY US-41 (SR-2) resurfacing of Hillsboro Blvd. from east of Hendrixson Drive to the bridge over I-24:   The paving process is complete on this project. Weather permitting the remainder of the completion phase of the project will continue. The contractor will be working on Thermo, snowplowable makers and signage work. Project work is scheduled for 7 PM until 6 AM Sunday nights thru Friday morning. During the work process the project may require lane closures each night. Motorists should use extreme caution and be alert to construction equipment. Flaggers will be present to assist with traffic control as needed. Special Note: During the Bonnaroo Music Festival there will not be any work progress from 6 AM 6/06/18 to 7 PM 6/11/18.  Estimated project completion date is June 2018.

FRANKLIN COUNTY SR-127 the construction of a concrete bulb-tee beam bridge over the Elk River (LM 6.21), including grading, drainage and paving:   Work on this project continues. GRUNDY COUNTY I-24 sliplining of culverts at various locations between mile markers 129 and 134:   The contractor will be working on the sliplining project on I-24 of culverts at various locations between mile markers 129 and 134. This work will be taking place Monday - Friday 7 AM - 5 PM. During this time there will be no outside shoulder. Special Note: During the Bonnaroo Music Festival there will not be any work progress from 6 AM 6/06/18 to 7 PM 6/11/18.  Estimated project completion date is August 2018.

MARION COUNTY I-24 WB resurfacing from the Grundy County line (MM 127) to east of the bridge over Cave Cove Creek (MM 134):   Contractor will be on site this week re-positioning barrier rails on shoulders. The contractor may have short term shoulder and/or lane closures in order to perform the necessary work. These closures will take place on the interstate nightly from 7PM Sunday through 6AM Friday. Motorists should use extreme caution and be alert to construction equipment. Special Note: During the Bonnaroo Music Festival there will not be any work progress from 6 AM 6/06/18 to 7 PM 6/11/18.  Estimated project completion date is September 2018.

MARION COUNTY TDOT Maintenance on I-24 both directions from MM 134.3 to MM 166.4:   Crews will be repairing potholes, 05/31/18 through 06/06/18 in both directions beginning at 7 AM- 3:30 PM, weekdays, causing there to be no outside shoulders.

 

MARION COUNTY TDOT Maintenance on SR-156 (SOUTH PITTSBURG MTN. RD.) both directions from LM 0.0 to LM 20.0:   Crews will be mowing in both directions from 05/31/18 through 06/06/18, weekdays beginning at 7 AM-3:30 PM causing roadway to be reduced to one lane.

 

VANBUREN COUNTY TDOT Maintenance on SR-30 (STATE HWY. 30) eastbound from LM 16.4 to LM 16.4:   A slide is being repaired on SR30, Van Buren County, traveling eastbound and westbound, at the 16.4 MM. The eastbound lane will be closed allowing only one lane to be opened for traffic, 24/7, 7 days a week until slide is repaired. Portable traffic signal lights are in place at both ends.

 

VANBUREN COUNTY SR-111 grading, drainage, and paving from south of Manus Road to south of SR-285 near Double Bridge Road:   The contractor will be addressing punch list items during this report period, which will not affect traffic. Estimated project completion date is June 2018.

VANBUREN COUNTY SR-30 miscellaneous safety improvements from the Warren County line (LM 0.00) to the Bledsoe County line (LM 22.15):   There will be intermittent lane closures on SR-30 for the installation of new signs, guardrail upgrades, and pavement markings. WARREN COUNTY Utility Work on SR-56 (BEERSHEBA HWY.) southbound from LM 5.18 to LM 10.61:   SB lane NW of the intersection of SR 127 ending N of Intersection of Chapel Hill Road. Install aerial and buried fiber line and some pole replacement. Lane closure between 8AM-4PM Starting 5/28/2018-7/2/2018. WARREN COUNTY Utility Work on SR-8 (HARRISON FERRY RD.) southbound from LM 4.84 to LM 0.93:   SB beginning at SR 8 and Shellsford road intersection and ending SR 8 and Lawrence Road, Installation of aerial and buried fiber. WARREN COUNTY SR-288 construction of a concrete bulb-tee beam bridge over Collins River (LM 4.97), including grading, drainage and paving:   The bridge is currently reduced to one 12-ft. lane to allow the contractor to construct the new bridge. While the bridge is down to one lane, traffic will be maintained and controlled by a temporary signal for the safety of the traveling public. Motorists should expect periodic delays and use caution in the work zone. RESTRICTIONS: One lane bridge. Lane width 12 feet.

DISTRICT 29

 

 

HAMILTON COUNTY I-75 North Exit 1 interchange reconfiguration project at mile marker 1:   Work on this project continues. There is now only one exit ramp that allows drivers to turn both east and west on Ringgold Road at a signalized intersection. Traffic has been shifted onto the newly constructed portion of Camp Jordan Pkwy., and the intersection (I-75 NB off-ramp and SR-8/Camp Jordan Pkwy.) is now controlled by a traffic signal. The contractor plans to open the new I-75 NB On Ramp at Exit 1 on Friday June 1.  Motorist should expect a change in traffic pattern along Ringgold Rd. once this occurs.  The contractor will provide appropriate signage and message boards to make traffic aware next week.  This schedule is weather permitting.  Estimated project completion date is June 2018.

HAMILTON COUNTY US-27 (I-124) widening from I-24/US-27 interchange to north of the Olgiati Bridge over the Tennessee River, including widening the Olgiati Bridge:   Work on this project continues. The contractor has closed the 12th Street tie-in ramp to US-27 South. This closure will be in place through 06/18. Traffic from 12th Street will be detoured to Carter Street and then to westbound MLK Blvd. where motorists may access the US-27 South on-ramp. Detours are posted. Motorists should exercise caution when traveling through the construction zone and pay close attention to the detour signage posted. The speed limit on US-27 in the construction zone remains 45 MPH. Weather permitting, the contractor may implement temporary lane/shoulder closures on weeknights between the hours of 7 PM and 6 AM. At least one lane will remain open in each direction on US-27. THP will assist with traffic control on the project as necessary. RESTRICTIONS: I-124 (US-27) Northbound Exit 1C 4th Street Off Ramp. No oversize/over-dimensional loads. HAMILTON COUNTY SR-320 (East Brainerd Road) grading, drainage, installation of signals, construction of seven retaining walls and paving from east of Graysville Road to east of Bel-Air Road:   During this report period, the contractor will have intermittent lane closures between 9AM-2PM. This work may affect either direction of East Brainerd Road or side streets from Graysville Road to Bel-Air Road. MCMINN COUNTY SR-30, grading, drainage and paving on SR-30 from Jackson Street to east of Knight Road in Athens:   Work on this project continues. This project will upgrade SR-30 from a four-lane lane divided roadway to a five-lane urban-type roadway (two lanes in each direction with continuous center turn lane) and include curb, gutter and ADA-compliant sidewalks on both sides throughout the project area. The contractor has implemented the first phase traffic shift. The eastbound lanes are closed to traffic, and all traffic is using the existing westbound lanes, which have been marked and signed as a two-lane undivided highway from east of Jackson Street to east of Knight Road. Crossovers to businesses are reduced, but all businesses remain accessible.  Estimated project completion date is October 2019.

MCMINN COUNTY I-75 resurfacing from south of SR-30 (MM 48.69/LM 13.75) to north of County Road 267 (MM 55.44/LM 20.50):   Work on this project has begun. This Sunday through Thursday, the contractor will be working on the underdrain and will have temporary lane closures on I-75 from Sunday through Thursday night from 7 PM-6 AM weather permitting. There will also be the possibility that the contractor will work on Friday and Saturday night 7 PM-7AM depending on weather or if the contractor can finish up the work. There will be State Troopers on the project and the speed limit in the project area has been lowered to 60 MPH. There is a possibility that the underdrain contractor will work during this reporting period on the Southbound lanes.  Estimated project completion date is September 2018.

MCMINN COUNTY Utility Work on SR-39 (NEW ENGLEWOOD RD.) eastbound from LM 13.11 to LM 13.11:   EB / WB Intersections of North Niota Road and CR 551 on Hwy 39 Athens Pike in Engelwood TN, build strand and lash cable crossing SR 39. POLK COUNTY SR-30 cross drain replacement between LM 2.65 and LM 8.0:   Beginning on Monday 05/07/18 and lasting through July 2018, TDOT crews will be removing and replacing 16 deteriorating cross drains ahead of a resurfacing project that is scheduled to begin in late summer/early fall 2018. The work will take place between 8 AM and 4:30 PM on weekdays and will require intermittent lane closures. Estimated project completion date is July 2018.

POLK COUNTY US-64 (SR-40) construction of a concrete bulb-tee beam bridge over Branch and TOHA Old Line railroad (LM 24.85), including grading, drainage and paving:   There will be intermittent lane closures as the contractor works to cut the embankment for the retaining wall. Pinecrest Road intersection has been closed. There are posted detour signs for residents to get to their homes on Pinecrest Road. This road will be closed during the duration of the construction of the Retaining Wall on US64. During this operation, there will be temporary lane closure. The work should be from 10 AM to 4:30 PM. Estimated project completion date is May 2019.

POLK COUNTY US-64 (SR-40) resurfacing from west of the Ocoee River Recreation Area, Caney Creek take out (LM 13.00) to LM 17.00.:   There is a possibility of intermittent lane closures on this report as the contractor tries to finish up project. The contractor will only lack snowplowable markers and shoulder stone. Starting after Memorial Day, the contractor will only have any lane closures on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Estimated project completion date is July 2018.

RHEA COUNTY SR-68 slide repair at LM 5:   TDOT personnel and contract crews have begun work to repair a section of SR-68 near LM 5 in Rhea County that is currently closed due to a slide. REGION 2 random on-call spray thermoplastic pavement marking on various interstate and state routes:   Call-out work will continue on this project. The contractor will begin replacing pavement markings on I-24 and SR-319 in Hamilton County, US-72 (SR-27) in Marion County, and US-27 (SR-29) in Rhea County. This work will result in rolling lane closures and brief stoppages in traffic. Motorists should be aware of all construction equipment and personnel and be attentive to all construction signs. Estimated project completion date is June 2018.

REGION 2 the random on-call pavement marking and the retracing of pavement markings with spray thermoplastic on various Interstate and State Routes:   Work continues on this project. The contractor will be retracing existing striping in Polk, Marion, and Sequatchie Counties at night. This will include, at a minimum, temporary lane closures on the following route in Polk County: SR-40 (US-64); on the following routes in Marion County: I-24 and SR-2; and on the following route in Sequatchie County: SR-8. Mobile lane closures will be present at night on these routes. RESTRICTIONS

FRANKLIN COUNTY - CNR044: bridge will be reduced to one 10.5’ lane and controlled with a temporary traffic signal until further notice.

FRANKLIN COUNTY - CNQ930: The bridge is reduced to one 9’ lane and controlled with a temporary traffic signal until further notice.

WARREN COUNTY - CNQ270: One lane bridge. Lane width 12 feet.

HAMILTON COUNTY - CNP230: I-124 (US-27) Northbound Exit 1C 4th Street Off Ramp. No oversize/over-dimensional loads. Width Limit is 11 feet.
