CUMBERLAND COUNTY SR-101 (Peavine Road) grading, drainage, and paving from Firetower Road to Westchester/Catoosa Boulevard:   As grade work progresses, motorists should be alert for shifts in traffic patterns to allow for construction activities. Current activities include paving activities, utility relocation, grade work, storm drain, base stone, and curb and gutter. Temporary lane closures and traffic stoppages may be needed to support ongoing work. CUMBERLAND COUNTY US-127 (SR-28) from Plateau Road (LM 22.68) to the bridge over Clear Creek (LM 30.50) and SR-298 from north of Redmond Lane (LM 6.75) to south of Roy McCoy Road (LM 12.38) resurfacing (microsurfacing):   Contractor will be completing punch list items on SR 298 (Genesis Road) and may require temporary lane closures.  Estimated project completion date is November 2018.

OVERTON COUNTY TDOT Maintenance on SR-136 (STATE HWY. 136) both directions from LM 3.74 to LM 3.74:   Bridge inspection will be performing its 2-year inspection on the SR-136 bridge over the Roaring River at LM 3.74 on Tuesday, 11/6/18 from 9 am till 2 pm. One lane will be closed during the inspection.

 

OVERTON COUNTY TDOT Maintenance on SR-136 (STATE HWY. 136) both directions from LM 5.26 to LM 5.26:   Bridge inspection will be performing its 2-year inspection on the SR-136 bridge over Flat Creek at LM 5.26 on Wednesday, 11/7/18 from 9 am till 2 pm. One lane will be closed during the inspection.

 

OVERTON COUNTY SR-52 grading, drainage, signals and paving from near Oakley-Allons Road (LM 6.58) to SR-111 (LM 10.23):   Contractor will be on site to perform miscellaneous work as required to complete project. Shoulder closures may be used to accommodate this work. Motorists should obey speed limit and watch for construction equipment. Estimated project completion date is November 2018.

PUTNAM COUNTY SR-62 resurfacing from east of Meadow Creek bridge (LM 5.28) to the Fentress County line (LM 10.40) and on SR-84 from the White County line (LM 0.00) to north of Henry Cemetery Road (LM 6.11):   Contractor scheduled to perform pavement marking this week. Contractor will use flagging operations to maintain one lane during construction.  Estimated project completion date is November 2018.

PUTNAM AND OVERTON COUNTY SR-136 resurfacing from Bear Creek Road in Putnam County (LM 8.98), through Overton County and back into Putnam County to the Overton County line (LM 1.36):   The contractor will be resurfacing throughout the project during daytime hours. This will result in lane closures with flagging operations. Motorists should use extreme caution and be alert to construction equipment and workers. Estimated project completion date is November 2018.

WHITE COUNTY SR-111 resurfacing from the Van Buren County line (LM 0.00) to Shady Oak Road (LM 4.20):   The contractor will be milling the existing surface and resurfacing when milling is completed. This will result in temporary lane closures both directions during daytime hours. Motorists are advised to use caution and be alert to all contraction signage. Estimated project completion date is November 2018.

WHITE COUNTY The resurfacing on US-70 (SR-1) from LM 7.69 to LM 10.61; US-70 (SR-26) from LM 9.82 to LM 10.79; and SR-84 from US-70 (SR-1) LM 0.00 to LM 0.12:   Contractor is currently resurfacing side roads, adjusting utilities, and installing pavement markings throughout the project. Motorists should expect temporary lane closures and traffic stoppages during this time. Motorists are advised to observe the posted speed limits when entering the work zone, and to be alert of all construction personnel, equipment and vehicles.  Estimated project completion date is November 2018.

COFFEE AND WARREN COUNTY SR-55 Resurfacing from north of Interstate Drive (LM 15.32) to north of Swan Road (LM 19.28):   The contractor will be milling the existing surface and resurfacing when milling is completed. Motorists are advised to use extreme caution. There will be temporary lane closures in both directions. Work will take place during the day between the hours of 6:30AM and 7:30PM. Estimated project completion date is November 2018.

FRANKLIN COUNTY SR-127 the construction of a concrete bulb-tee beam bridge over the Elk River (LM 6.21), including grading, drainage and paving:   Work on this project continues. FRANKLIN COUNTY SR-476 bridge repair over the Elk River (LM 3.39) and Hurricane Creek (LM 7.40):   Work continues on this project. The bridge is down to one lane and controlled with a traffic signal. RESTRICTIONS: The bridge is reduced to one 9’ lane and controlled with a temporary traffic signal until further notice. Estimated project completion date is December 2018.

FRANKLIN COUNTY US-64BR (SR-15) resurfacing from US-41A (SR-16) (LM 13.7) to west of Money Lane (LM 18.3):   Progress work on this project will continue Monday thru Saturday 6:30 AM to 7:30 PM, weather permitting. The contractor may have lane closures in order to perform the necessary work. Motorists should use extreme caution and be alert to construction equipment and workers. FRANKLIN AND MARION COUNTY SR-156 Resurfacing from the Marion County line (LM 0) to the Marion County line (LM 2.05), from the Franklin County line (LM 0) to west of Frank Bolton Road (LM 3.06):   Work on this project will continue daily 6:30 AM to 7:30 PM, weather permitting. The contractor may have lane closures in order to perform the necessary work. Motorists should use extreme caution and be alert to construction equipment and workers. GRUNDY COUNTY TDOT Maintenance on SR-50 westbound from LM 8.7 to LM 8.8:   Wednesday, 10/31/18 through Wednesday, 11/7/18, westbound, 12:00 AM – 12:00 AM (24 hours). There will be a lane closure for slide repair. Temporary traffic signals are in place.

MARION COUNTY I-24 WB resurfacing from the Grundy County line (MM 127) to east of the bridge over Cave Cove Creek (MM 134):   Substantial work has completed on this project. The inspection and if necessary any punch list items are pending. Estimated project completion date is November 2018.

MARION COUNTY SR-156 over Running Water Creek (LM 25.58) bridge rehabilitation:   SR-156 is reduced to one lane across Running Water Creek Bridge and controlled with a temporary traffic signal while the bridge is repaired. WARREN COUNTY SR-288 construction of a concrete bulb-tee beam bridge over Collins River (LM 4.97), including grading, drainage and paving:   The bridge is currently reduced to one 12-ft. lane to allow the contractor to construct the new bridge. While the bridge is down to one lane, traffic will be maintained and controlled by a temporary signal for the safety of the traveling public. Motorists should expect periodic delays and use caution in the work zone. RESTRICTIONS: Reduced to one 12-ft lane.

WARREN COUNTY SR-8 over Collins River (LM 8.14) Bridge Repair:   The bridge is currently reduced to one 11-ft. lane to allow the contractor to repair the existing bridge. While the bridge is down to one lane, traffic will be maintained and controlled by a temporary signal for the safety of the traveling public. Motorists should expect periodic delays and use caution in the work zone. RESTRICTIONS: One 11-foot lane. Estimated project completion date is August 2019.

HAMILTON COUNTY I-24 East and West drainage improvement from MM 173 to 175:   The drainage improvement project at Exit 174 is underway. There will be lane closures along US-41 in the vicinity of the interchange. Ramps will remain open but could be subject to width and lane restrictions. Additionally, there will be a night time (9 PM to 6 AM) lane closure along I-24 EB to support guardrail installation. Estimated project completion date is November 2018.

HAMILTON COUNTY US-27 (I-124) widening from I-24/US-27 interchange to north of the Olgiati Bridge over the Tennessee River, including widening the Olgiati Bridge:   Work on this project continues with activities occurring on the west side of southbound US-27. Motorists should be alert for construction vehicles entering and leaving the area along the access ramps for east and westbound M. L. King Boulevard. The speed limit for the access ramp is 35 MPH. The 12th Street tie-in ramp to US-27 South has been temporarily closed. This closure will be in place until further notice. Additionally, the southbound ramp from W. Main St.to southbound US-27 has been temporarily closed and will remain so until further notice. Detours are posted. Motorists should pay close attention to the detour signage posted. The speed limit on US-27 in the construction zone remains 45 MPH. Weather permitting, the contractor may implement temporary lane/shoulder closures on weeknights between the hours of 7 PM and 6 AM. At least one lane will remain open in each direction on US-27.  Estimated project completion date is January 2020.

HAMILTON COUNTY US-127 (SR-8) slope repair of Signal Mountain Blvd. at log mile 16.05:   During this report period, the contractor will have one lane closed while performing slope stabilization operations. Temporary traffic signals are in place on either end of the project to control traffic. Additional flaggers will assist with traffic control as needed. No southbound traffic restrictions will be allowed between 5 AM and 9 AM. No northbound traffic restrictions will be allowed between 3 PM and 6 PM. Work will be allowed on Saturdays but flagging personnel will be present to ensure continued traffic flow. Estimated project completion date is April 2019.

REGION 2 TDOT Maintenance pothole repair and pavement patching:   There will be possible short-term emergency lane closures at various locations in Region 2 in order to repair potholes and patch pavement on an as-needed basis. At least one travel lane will remain open to traffic at all times on the Interstate, and flaggers will be present on State Routes during any work that is performed.  Estimated project completion date is June 2019.

REGION 2 sweeping and drain cleaning on various interstate and state routes:   There will be mobile lane closures supporting a sweeping operation along regional interstates and highways through this reporting period. Both the sweeping activity will happen Sunday - Thursday (8PM - 6AM).  Estimated project completion date is February 2019.

REGION 2 On-call concrete pavement repair:   TDOT contract crews will make concrete repairs this weekend on I-75 North in Hamilton County near mile marker 8.2 between Exit 7 (Bonny Oaks Drive/Old Lee Hwy.) and Exit 9 (Volkswagen Drive).  The area to be repaired is in lane #2, so the fast lane (lane #1) will also be closed during the work.  The work will take place beginning at 7:00 p.m. EDT on Friday, November 2, 2018 and ending by or before noon EST on Sunday, November 4, 2018.  This work will consist of sawing and removing damaged concrete slabs and re-pouring them with new concrete, which will need several hours to harden enough to handle traffic.  Two lanes will remain open to traffic during this work.  As soon as the concrete hardens enough to pass strength tests, all lanes will be reopened to traffic.  While this work takes place, the Tennessee Highway Patrol and a truck-mounted attenuator with a message board will be on site to assist with traffic control and information.  Drivers are urged to obey the signage and pay close attention to changing conditions in the work zone.   During the week, the contractor will be working on I-24 at Exit 161 in Marion County. All exit ramps will remain open. Traffic will be shifted onto the shoulder while work is being completed. Estimated project completion date is March 2019.

REGION 2 The relensing of snowplowable pavement markers on various Interstate and State Routes:   The contractor will be having intermittent lane closures on I-24, I-75, and US29 in Hamilton, Bradley, and McMinn County starting on Thursday of this reporting period. The work will start around 7 PM and last to 6 AM. This will be a moving operation with THP out on the project to help with traffic control. Estimated project completion date is November 2018.
