CLAY COUNTY SR-53 bridge repair over the Obey River (LM 8.89):   Contractor may be onsite performing punch lists items as needed to complete project. Lane shifts and/or closures may be used to facilitate this work. Motorists are encouraged to watch for construction operations in the roadway. Estimated project completion date is October 2018.

CUMBERLAND COUNTY SR-101 (Peavine Road) grading, drainage, and paving from Firetower Road to Westchester/Catoosa Boulevard:   As grade work progresses, motorists should be alert for shifts in traffic patterns to allow for construction activities. Current activities include paving activities, utility relocation, grade work, storm drain, base stone, and curb and gutter. Temporary lane closures and traffic stoppages may be needed to support ongoing work. Motorists should reduce speeds on Peavine Road and be alert for construction personnel and equipment entering and exiting the roadway.  Estimated project completion date is November 2020.

CUMBERLAND COUNTY US-127 (SR-28) from Plateau Road (LM 22.68) to the bridge over Clear Creek (LM 30.50) and SR-298 from north of Redmond Lane (LM 6.75) to south of Roy McCoy Road (LM 12.38) resurfacing (microsurfacing):   Contractor will be completing punch list items and may require temporary lane closures. Estimated project completion date is October 2018.

FENTRESS COUNTY SR-28 Construction of an acceleration lane (LM 21) and safety improvements near the Jamestown City limits (LM 20.78) to the Pickett County line (LM 33.58):   Contractor is scheduled to complete guardrail installation on SR 28 between LM 20.78 and 33.58 this week. Contractor will use flaggers and shut SR 28 down to one lane to complete this work.  Estimated project completion date is October 2018.

Contractor will use flaggers and maintain one lane during construction. Motorists are encouraged to obey posted speed limit and watch for construction equipment in the roadway. RESTRICTIONS: Loads wider than 10' should seek alternate route. Estimated project completion date is November 2018.

PUTNAM COUNTY Utility Work on SR-24 (E. SPRING ST.) eastbound from LM 19.72 to LM 19.98:   Lane closure with flagger support for water and sewer repairs between E. Broad St. and Crockett Ave. 10/8/18 to 10/31/18 between 9am and 3pm

 

PUTNAM COUNTY The resurfacing (microsurfacing) on US-70N (SR-24) from the Smith County line (LM 0.00) to east of Byers Road (LM 11.00):   Contractor has begun microsurfacing this week. Estimated project completion date is October 2018.

WHITE COUNTY The resurfacing on US-70 (SR-1) from LM 7.69 to LM 10.61; US-70 (SR-26) from LM 9.82 to LM 10.79; and SR-84 from US-70 (SR-1) LM 0.00 to LM 0.12:   Contractor is currently replacing sidewalk along SR-1, and resurfacing throughout the project. Motorist should expect temporary lane closures and traffic stoppages during this time. Flaggers will be present to assist with traffic control as needed. Motorists are advised to observe the posted speed limits when entering the work zone, and to be alert of all construction personnel, equipment and vehicles.  Estimated project completion date is October 2018.

WHITE COUNTY US-70 (SR-26) intersection improvements at SR-111 in Sparta:   The contractor will be installing vehicle detection wires in the roadway on SR-26 near the SR-111 Northbound off-ramp. This will result in temporary lane closures on SR-26 Eastbound and Westbound and on the SR-111 Northbound off-ramp. Motorists should be use caution around all construction equipment and personnel. Estimated project completion date is October 2018.

COFFEE COUNTY Utility Work on SR-280 (NOAH-POCAHONTAS RD.) both directions from LM 7.18 to LM 10.6:   Intermittent aerial and buried utility work with signage and flaggers as needed. From 10/4/18 to 11/16/18 from 9am to 3pm

 

COFFEE AND WARREN COUNTY SR-55 Resurfacing from north of Interstate Drive (LM 15.32) to north of Swan Road (LM 19.28):   The contractor will be milling the existing surface and resurfacing when milling is completed. Motorists are advised to use extreme caution. There will be temporary lane closures in both directions. Work will take place during the day between the hours of 6:30AM and 7:30PM. Estimated project completion date is November 2018.

FRANKLIN COUNTY SR-127 the construction of a concrete bulb-tee beam bridge over the Elk River (LM 6.21), including grading, drainage and paving:   Work on this project continues. FRANKLIN COUNTY SR-476 bridge repair over the Elk River (LM 3.39) and Hurricane Creek (LM 7.40):   Work continues on this project. The bridge is down to one lane and controlled with a traffic signal. RESTRICTIONS: The bridge is reduced to one 9’ lane and controlled with a temporary traffic signal until further notice. Estimated project completion date is December 2018.

FRANKLIN COUNTY US-64BR (SR-15) resurfacing from US-41A (SR-16) (LM 13.7) to west of Money Lane (LM 18.3):   Progress work on this project will continue Monday thru Saturday 6:30 AM to 7:30 PM, weather permitting. The contractor may have lane closures in order to perform the necessary work. Motorists should use extreme caution and be alert to construction equipment and workers. GRUNDY COUNTY SR-50 slide repair at log mile 9.9:   Grundy County SR50 slide repair from log mile 8.7 to log mile 9.9 Thursday, 10/18/18 through Wednesday, 10/24/18, eastbound and westbound, 24 hours. Traffic will be reduced to 1 lane in order to repair two slides. Temporary traffic lights are in place. Estimated project completion date is October 2018.

GRUNDY COUNTY SR-108 resurfacing from SR-56 (LM 12.02) to west of Eagle Lake Road (LM 15.00), including addition of a turn lane:   The contractor will be constructing an additional turning lane and resurfacing SR 108 at this location. SR 108 will be reduced to one lane controlled by a flagging operation when workers are present.  Estimated project completion date is November 2018.

MARION COUNTY I-24 miscellaneous safety improvements from SR-156 (MM 161) to the Georgia State line (MM 167):   Beginning August 19 and continuing through October 31st, the Contractor will be working on I24 East bound and West bound between the Tennessee Line in Hamilton County and Exit 161 in Marion County. The work will be conducted from Sunday night through Friday morning starting at 8PM Central and ending at 5AM Central Time each morning. The contractor will have intermittent lane closures throughout the night as they delineate the guardrail and installs new signs.  Estimated project completion date is October 2018.

MARION COUNTY I-24 WB resurfacing from the Grundy County line (MM 127) to east of the bridge over Cave Cove Creek (MM 134):   Weather permitting the contractor will continue the installation of the high friction surface treatment on Thursday and Friday during the hours of 10AM to 10PM and Sunday 10/21/18 through Wednesday 10/24/18 between the hours of 7PM to 6AM. Motorists are advised to use extreme caution. Law Enforcement and Safety Personnel will be present.  Estimated project completion date is October 2018.

MARION COUNTY SR-156 over Running Water Creek (LM 25.58) bridge rehabilitation:   SR-156 is reduced to one lane across Running Water Creek Bridge and controlled with a temporary traffic signal while the bridge is repaired. WARREN COUNTY SR-288 construction of a concrete bulb-tee beam bridge over Collins River (LM 4.97), including grading, drainage and paving:   The bridge is currently reduced to one 12-ft. lane to allow the contractor to construct the new bridge. While the bridge is down to one lane, traffic will be maintained and controlled by a temporary signal for the safety of the traveling public. Motorists should expect periodic delays and use caution in the work zone. RESTRICTIONS: Reduced to one 12-ft lane.

WARREN COUNTY SR-8 over Collins River (LM 8.14) Bridge Repair:   The bridge is currently reduced to one 11-ft. lane to allow the contractor to repair the existing bridge. While the bridge is down to one lane, traffic will be maintained and controlled by a temporary signal for the safety of the traveling public. Motorists should expect periodic delays and use caution in the work zone. RESTRICTIONS: One 11-foot lane. Estimated project completion date is August 2019.

DISTRICT 29

 

BRADLEY COUNTY SR-2 resurfacing on U.S. 11 from near Anatole Lane (LM 15.15) to south of Old Highway 11 (LM 18.20):   The contractor will be working on Thursday, October 18, from 9AM to 2:30 PM on the project on pavement markings. On Saturday, October 20, from 8PM-6 AM, the contractor will be working from 8PM to 6AM to install snowplowable markers on the project, weather permitting. THP will assist with traffic control. Estimated project completion date is November 2018.

HAMILTON COUNTY I-24 East and West drainage improvement from MM 173 to 175:   The drainage improvement project at Exit 174 is underway. There will be lane closures along US-41 in the vicinity of the interchange. Ramps will remain open but could be subject to width and lane restrictions.  Estimated project completion date is November 2018.

HAMILTON COUNTY US-27 (I-124) widening from I-24/US-27 interchange to north of the Olgiati Bridge over the Tennessee River, including widening the Olgiati Bridge:   Work on this project continues with numerous activities occurring in the median of US-27. Motorists should be alert for construction vehicles entering and leaving the left traffic lane in both the northbound and southbound directions. The 12th Street tie-in ramp to US-27 South has been temporarily closed. This closure will be in place until further notice. Detours are posted. Motorists should pay close attention to the detour signage posted. The speed limit on US-27 in the construction zone remains 45 MPH. Weather permitting, the contractor may implement temporary lane/shoulder closures on weeknights between the hours of 7 PM and 6 AM. At least one lane will remain open in each direction on US-27. Beginning on Thursday night 10/18/18 and Friday night 10/19/18 then again on Monday night 10/22/19 through Wednesday night 10/24/18 temporary lane closure may be required for North and Southbound US27 from I24 to the Olgiati Bridge for modification of the existing barrier rail. These lane closures, if necessary, will be short duration between the hours of 7PM and 6AM. Additionally, temporary right lane closures will be occurring northbound and southbound on the Olgiati Bridge. These closures are currently scheduled for Monday morning 10/22/18 through Wednesday evening 10/24/18. Two lanes will remain open at all times for each direction.  Estimated project completion date is January 2020.

HAMILTON COUNTY US-127 (SR-8) slope repair of Signal Mountain Blvd. at log mile 16.05:   During this report period, the contractor will have one lane closed while performing slope stabilization operations. Temporary traffic signals are in place on either end of the project to control traffic. Additionally the speed limit has been lowered to 20 MPH in the construction zone. Additional flaggers will assist with traffic control as needed.  Estimated project completion date is December 2018.

HAMILTON COUNTY TDOT Contractor on I-24 both directions from MM 176.4 to MM 177.2:   Nighttime Closure - A contractor from Arcadis will be performing an inspection on the I24 bridges over Lookout Creek at LM 176.4 and over Chattanooga Creek at LM 177.2 from Tuesday, 10/16/18 – Thursday 10/18/18 from 8 PM - 5 AM. The right shoulder and through lane will be closed.

 

HAMILTON COUNTY TDOT Maintenance on I-124 northbound from MM 0.2 to MM 0.2:   TDOT Bridge Inspection will be performing its 2-year Inspection on the I-24 Bridge over US-27 intersection on Monday, 10/22/18. There will be a shoulder closure US-27, MM 0.2, at the I-24 split to inspect the single bearing that carries I-24 eastbound. Bridge inspection will close the shoulder from 9 AM - 12 PM.

 

HAMILTON COUNTY TDOT Maintenance on I-24 both directions from MM 182.4 to MM 182.4:   TDOT Bridge Inspection will be performing it's 2-year inspection on South Crest road over I-24 LM 182.4 on Tuesday, 10/23/18, From 9 AM - 3 PM. No lanes on I-24 will be affected but on Crest Road the west bound lane and shoulder will be affected.

 

HAMILTON COUNTY Utility Work on SR-2 (BROAD ST.) southbound from LM 6.2 to LM 6.23:   Shoulder work @ intersection w/w 33rd St. with signage and flaggers as needed. 3210 Broad - w 32nd St. and Watson Ct. From 10/18/18 To: 10/24/18 from 9am to 3pm

 

HAMILTON COUNTY Utility Work on SR-27 (MARKET ST.) both directions from LM 4.43 to LM 4.43:   Intersection of Market St. and King St./W. 13th St. One lane to remain open to NB and SB traffic for duration of project. Signage and flaggers as needed. From 10/18/18 to 12/18/18 from 6am to 6pm

 

HAMILTON COUNTY Utility Work on SR-319 (HIXSON PK.) southbound from LM 5.41 to LM 5.51:   To install (2) spans overhead along existing EPB pole line along SR 319. Signage for a temporary single lane closure for aerial utility work. From: 10/24/18 to: 10/24/18 between 9am and 3pm

 

HAMILTON COUNTY SR-153 resurfacing from I-75 (LM 0.00) to Shallowford Road (LM 2.60), including bridge deck repair:   This project will involve nightly lane closures to support the project activities. This will involve both NB & SB lane closures on SR-153 beginning on Monday. Estimated project completion date is November 2018.

HAMILTON COUNTY cleaning of the McCallie Tunnel on US-11 (US-64, SR-2), the Stringers Ridge Tunnel on US-127 (SR-8), and the Bachman Tubes on US-41 (US-76, SR-8):   The McCallie Tunnel will be closed for cleaning on Wednesday, 10/17/18 (8 PM to 6 AM). This will involve a flagging operation, with one way traffic. Also, the Stringers Ridge tunnel will be cleaned 10/17/18 (8 PM to 6 AM). Bachman Tubes will be cleaned on 10/18/18 (8 PM to 6 AM). Both the Stringer's Ridge and the Bachman Tube cleaning will have a signed detour to direct traffic Estimated project completion date is June 2019.

This work may affect either direction of East Brainerd Road or side streets from Graysville Road to Hamlet Drive. MCMINN COUNTY SR-30, grading, drainage and paving on SR-30 from Jackson Street to east of Knight Road in Athens:   Traffic along SR-30 through the project's length has been restricted to one lane in each direction with turning lanes provided at critical intersections and business access. This phase one construction activity has all traffic on the previous westbound side of SR-30. All businesses are provided with accessibility.  Estimated project completion date is October 2019.

MCMINN COUNTY SR-305 resurfacing from west of US-11 (SR-2) (LM 2.86) to west of I-75 (LM 5.00):   On Thursday night from 7 PM-6 AM, the Northbound off ramp of I-75 at Exit 52 will be closed as the contractor works in front of this ramp. Traffic will have to use either Exit 49 or Exit 56 to travel to SR-305. This work will be done weather permitting. If weather causes cancellation, the day of work will be moved back to Friday. There will be lane closures on SR-305 during this work and flaggers will be there to direct traffic. Estimated project completion date is November 2018.

POLK COUNTY SR-30 resurfacing from US-411 (SR-33) (LM 2.65) to west of Tellico Reliance Road (LM 8.00):   The contractor will have lane closures on this project during work. They will have pilot car directing traffic and also flaggers to help with traffic. They will be milling and paving during these lane closures. Estimated project completion date is November 2018.

POLK COUNTY US-64 (SR-40) construction of a concrete bulb-tee beam bridge over Branch and TOHA Old Line railroad (LM 24.85), including grading, drainage and paving:   The contractor has cut the embankment for the retaining wall. The Pinecrest Road intersection has been closed. There are posted detour signs for residents to get to their homes on Pinecrest Road. This road will be closed during the duration of the construction of the Retaining Wall on US64. There will be intermittent lane closures on the project as trucks will be entering the road and the contractor will be working on utility lines that cross US64. Estimated project completion date is May 2019.

RHEA COUNTY SR-29 Improvement at Cawood Road (LM 27.3) including grading, drainage, and paving; resurfacing from south of Vanns Creek Road/Hoyal Road (LM 23.4) to north of Haskel Road (LM 25.3):   Work has begun on this project involving shoulder closures and slight lane reductions through the Cawood Rd. intersection (LM 27.3)on both SB & NB US 27. Additionally, paving activities will require lane closures through a two mile section of US 27 (NB & SB, LM 23 - LM 26). REGION 2 TDOT Maintenance drainage work:   There will be possible short-term lane and shoulder closures at various locations in Region 2 in order to clean rock and debris from ditches on an as-needed basis. One lane will be maintained at all times.

REGION 2 sweeping and drain cleaning on various interstate and state routes:   There will be mobile lane closures supporting a sweeping operation along regional interstates and highways through this reporting period. Additionally, there could be a drain cleaning operation requiring lane closures along I-40 in Putnam county (MM 267 -MM 274 & MM 295 - MM 297). Both the sweeping & drain cleaning activities will happen Sunday - Thursday (8PM - 6AM).  Estimated project completion date is February 2019.

REGION 2 The retracing of painted pavement marking lines on various Interstate and State Routes:   The contractor will retrace existing roadway striping in Franklin, Grundy, and Coffee Counties, resulting in temporary lane closures each day. This will include the following route in Franklin County: SR-127; the following routes in Grundy County: SR-2 (US-41), SR-56, SR-108, and SR-50; and the following route in Coffee County: SR-127. Motorists should use caution around construction equipment and pay attention to all construction signage.  Estimated project completion date is October 2018.

RESTRICTIONS

FENTRESS COUNTY - CNS239: Loads wider than 10' should seek alternate route.

JACKSON COUNTY - CNS177: Loads wider than 10' should seek alternate route.

FRANKLIN COUNTY - CNR044: Bridge will be reduced to one 10.5’ lane and controlled with a temporary traffic signal until further notice.

FRANKLIN COUNTY - CNQ930: The bridge is reduced to one 9’ lane and controlled with a temporary traffic signal until further notice.

WARREN COUNTY - CNQ270: Reduced to one 12-ft lane.

WARREN COUNTY - CNS254: One 11-foot lane.

Motorists are encouraged to use caution and obey reduced speed limits in all TDOT work zones, regardless of lane closure activity.
