District 47 - West TN - Northern

BENTON COUNTY, I-40 Truck Climbing Lane: Motorists should watch for trucks entering and exiting the roadway in a construction zone. *Speed limit is reduced to 60 MPH.

Saturday, January 13, 5:00 a. m. through Sunday, January 14, 6:00 p. m.: There will be outside lane closures on I-40 westbound around MM 133.0 to remove concrete barrier rail. THP will assist with traffic control.

CARROLL COUNTY, SR 423: The grading, drainage, construction of a concrete I-beam bridge on

SR 423 over Clear Creek. Motorists should watch for trucks entering and exiting the roadway.

DYER COUNTY, SR-20: Repair of bridges over North Fork Forked Deer River.

Restrictions: Traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction with a 12’ lane restriction.

*Speed limit has been reduced to 55 MPH.

HENRY COUNTY, SR-54: The grading, drainage, construction of bridges, retaining wall and paving on SR 54 from near Rison Street to near Smith Road. Motorists should watch for trucks entering and exiting the roadway.

LAKE COUNTY, SR-78: Construction of a concrete Bulb-Tee bridge on SR 78 over drainage ditch including grading, drainage, and paving will cause possible lane closures throughout the project.

Restrictions: Beginning Tuesday, August 1 through November 30, 2018, a traffic signal system is being utilized. Traffic is reduced to one lane in each direction with a 9’ lane restriction.

OBION COUNTY, Future I-69: Grading, drainage, construction of eight bridges on future I-69 from south of US 51 (SR 3) to south of US 45W (SR 5) will cause possible lane closures throughout the project. *Speed limit is reduced to 45 MPH through the US 51 (SR 3) portion of the project. The inside southbound lane on SR 3 is closed to all traffic for installation of barrier rail.

Restrictions:, June 13, 2017  a lane shift was put in place on SR 3 in the north and southbound directions. Traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction with an 11’ 6” lane restriction.

OBION COUNTY, SR-5: Installation of signals on US-45W (SR 5) at the intersection of Jackson Street in Union City.

District 48 - West TN – Middle/Southern

HARDIN COUNTY, SR-128: A widening project on SR 128 from South of Opel Loop to US-64 (SR 15) in Savannah will cause possible lane closures throughout the project. Motorists should watch for trucks entering and exiting the roadway from the construction zones and also crossing the roadways.

HARDIN COUNTY, SR-128:  The grading, drainage, and paving on SR 128 from south of One Stop Drive to south of Opel Loop. Motorists should watch for trucks entering and exiting the roadway from the construction zones and also crossing the roadways

HAYWOOD COUNTY-SR-19 (Brownsville Bypass): A widening project on SR 19 from west of Windrow Road to SR 76 south of Brownsville will cause possible lane closures throughout the project. Motorists should watch for trucks entering and exiting the roadway from the construction zones and also crossing the roadways.

HAYWOOD COUNTY–SR-76: Construction of a concrete bulb tee beam bridge over the Hatchie River – Wednesday, May 3, 2017 SR 76 CLOSED approx. 1 mile south of the I-40/Exit 56 interchange for removal of the truss bridge.

*Local traffic will have access up to the bridge. An interstate detour will be posted at Exit 56 and Exit 52 (Stanton/KoKo Road).

MADISON COUNTY, SR-186 (US45 Bypass) and I-40: Interchange improvements on SR-186 (US 45) north and southbound from the I-40 ramps (LM 2.83) to Old Hickory Blvd (LM 3.33) for paving and construction of retaining walls.  Widening of I-40 from just east of Exit 79 to just east of Exit 82.

Wednesday, January 10 through Wednesday, January 17, There are no scheduled closures.

District 49 - West TN - Southwest

FAYETTE/SHELBY COUNTIES, I-269: Installation of signs on I-269 (redesignated SR-385)

FAYETTE COUNTY, I-40: The grading, drainage, construction of a concrete bulb-tee bridge and paving on I-40 at the SR 196 (Hickory Withe Road) interchange. Motorists should watch for trucks entering and exiting the roadway. Speed limit has been reduced to 60 MPH.

 

FAYETTE COUNTY, US 70 (US 79, SR-1): A bridge repair project on SR 1 over branch will result in lane closures in both directions daily.

FAYETTE COUNTY- SR-59 over I-40: A bridge repair project on US-70 (SR 79, SR 1) over branch and on SR 59 over I-40.

SHELBY COUNTY, I-40 at Exit 1 to Exit 1A: Bridge repair project will cause possible lane closures on I-40 over the Mississippi River and 5 bridges over Wolf River, various ramps and city streets and railroad.

LOOK AHEAD:

Friday, January 19, 7:00 p. m. through Monday, January 22, 5:00 a. m.: Riverside Drive northbound ramp access to I-40 east will be CLOSED at Jefferson Avenue to replace the joints (This ramp carries traffic from Riverside Drive northbound to I-40 westbound into Arkansas). Detour routes will be along Front Street for Arkansas westbound traffic and Third Street for Tennessee eastbound traffic. Weather Permitting.

Saturday, January 20, 5:00 a. m. through Monday, January 22, 5:00 a. m.: The (2) two inside lanes on I-40 westbound will be CLOSED beginning at approximately MM 1.60 through MM 0.60 for repairs to the bridge over Second and Third Streets. One lane will remain open. NOTE: this is an alternate to the work described below and both will not occur at the same time Weather Permitting.

SHELBY COUNTY – I-40:

Thursday, January 11, 9:00 a. m.–3:00 p. m.: INTERMITTENT lane closures on I-40 east and westbound outside lane beginning at Canada Rd. through Shelby/Fayette County Line to allow for pothole repair.  Weather Permitting.

* Friday, January 12, 9:00 a. m.-3:00 p. m. will serve as a backup date.

Thursday, January 11 and Friday, January 12, 9:00 a. m.–3:00 p. m.: INTERMITTENT lane closures on I-40 east and westbound outside lane beginning at Chelsea Rd. through Hollywood Str. to allow for pothole repair.  Weather Permitting.

SHELBY COUNTY, I-240 MemFix 4: Replacement of Norfolk Southern, SR 57 east and westbound bridges, and repair of Park Avenue bridge over I-240.

 

I-240: There are shoulder closures in both directions of I-240 NB/SB between Quince and Walnut Grove.

The lane closures along I-240 east and westbound between Quince and Walnut Grove will stay in place throughout the project.

Wednesday, January 10 and Thursday, January 11, 9:00 p. m.-5:00 a. m.: There will be lane closures on I-240 southbound to mill and fill rumble strips. THP will assist with traffic control. Weather prohibiting closures will be moved to next available night.

Thursday, January 11 and Friday, January 12, 9:00 p. m.-5:00 a. m.: There will be lane closures on I-240 southbound to finish setting barrier rail. I-240 southbound exit to Poplar Ave. will be CLOSED. Detours to be provided. THP will assist with traffic control. Weather prohibiting closures will be moved to next available night.

There will be lane closures on I-240 northbound to complete the temporary Poplar ramp. I-240 northbound exit to Poplar Avenue will be CLOSED. Detours to be provided. THP will assist with traffic control. Weather prohibiting closures will be moved to next available night.

Friday, January 12 and Saturday, January 13, 9:00 p. m.-5:00 a. m.: There will be lane closures on I-240 northbound to set barrier rail at the Walnut Grove staging yard. THP will assist with traffic control. Weather prohibiting closures will be moved to next available night.

Sunday, January 14 through Monday, January 15, 9:00 p. m.-5:00 a. m.: There will be lane closures on I-240 southbound to the traffic switch operation. The Poplar Ave. westbound exit ramp to I-240 southbound will also be CLOSED. Detours to be provided. THP will assist with traffic control. Weather prohibiting closures will be moved to next available night.

Sunday, January 14 through January, Tuesday 16, 9:00 p. m.-5:00 a. m.: There will be lane closures on I-240 northbound to set barrier at the Walnut Grove staging yard. THP will assist with traffic control. Weather prohibiting closures will be moved to next available night.

SHELBY COUNTY, I-55

Thursday, January 11 and Friday, January 12, 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.: INTERMITTENT lane closures on I-55 north and southbound outside lane beginning at State Line Rd. through the Crump Exit to allow for pothole repair.  Weather Permitting.

SHELBY COUNTY, SR-1: Construction of a welded steel plate girder bridge on SR 1 over the Loosahatchie River will cause possible lane closures throughout the project.

SHELBY COUNTY, SR-14 (Austin Peay Hwy): Construction on SR 14 for a widening project from

SR 204 (Singleton Parkway) to east of Old Covington Pike. Shoulders are closed north and southbound. There will be possible temporary lane closures throughout the project.

On April 21, 2017, Old Covington Pike East access to/from SR 14 was permanently CLOSED.

*Speed limit has been reduced to 45 MPH.

SHELBY COUNTY, SR-175Resurfacing on SR 175 from near Elvis Presley Blvd (LM 4.67) to Swinnea (LM 8.24).

Wednesday, January 10, through Wednesday, January 17, 9:00 a. m.-3:00 p. m.: There will be possible lane closures at various locations in Region IV in order to repair pavement on an as needed basis.

TDOT District 49 On-Call Guardrail/Concrete Barrier Rail Repair:

Wednesday, January 10, through Tuesday, January 16, 8:00 p. m.-6:00 a. m.:  There will be night time lane closures at the following various locations to repair damaged guardrail. If weather prohibits, the repairs will be performed on the next available night. THP will assist with traffic control during night time closures. Weather Permitting.

·         I-240 SB and NB, MM 29.6– 25.4; various locations. One lane will be CLOSED. Also, I-240 NB, MM 29.6, “off” ramp to Union Avenue. Flagmen will be used to maintain traffic.

·         I-55 NB, MM 4.8. One lane will be CLOSED.

·         SR-385 NB and SB, MM 47.4 – MM 48.2, various locations. One lane will be CLOSED. Also, SR 385 SB, MM 34.6,”off” ramp to SR-1.  Ramp will be CLOSED.

·         I-40 EB, MM 24.0, “off” ramp to EXITS 24 – 25. Flagmen will be used to maintain traffic.

·         I-40 EB and WB, MM 2.8 – MM 11A.4; various locations. One lane will be CLOSED.
