New License Plate for Tennesseans with Disabilities Available in January 2023
The Department of Revenue was pleased to partner with the Department of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, and legislative sponsors from the Tennessee General Assembly, on a new motor vehicle passenger license plate design for Tennesseans with disabilities, available in January 2023. Available License Plates
The Department of Revenue administers more than 100 specialty license plates to residents registering private motor vehicles. Please check with your local county clerk's office for plate availability.
Personalized Plates
Use our online application to personalize any standard passenger plate or certain specialty license plates for vehicles and motorcycles for a cost of $35. This fee is in addition to the regular state registration fee and any applicable county fees and/or specialty plate fees.
Drive Insured Tennessee
Tennessee drivers may pay fines and risk losing vehicle registration if they are not covered by an auto liability insurance policy or cannot provide other proof of financial responsibility under the law.
