FAYETTEVILLE - The Special Investigations Section of the Tennessee Department of Revenue conducted the investigation that led to Jeffrey Blake League’s guilty plea to tax evasion charges after he filed false documents regarding the purchase price of his boat and two vehicles at the Lincoln County Clerk’s Office.

On Tuesday, Judge Forest Durard accepted League’s plea to three felony counts of tax evasion.  League was sentenced to one-year supervised probation and ordered to pay restitution of $6,429.50.

“The Department of Revenue strives to promote voluntary compliance of Tennessee’s tax laws by educating taxpayers and pursuing criminal sanctions for accountability of fraudulent actors,” said Revenue Commissioner David Gerregano. “This guilty plea underscores the Department’s efforts to ensure a level playing field and a fair administration of Tennessee’s tax laws.”
