NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Nearly 190 Soldiers from the Tennessee National Guard’s 730th Composite Supply Company are scheduled to return home, Dec. 14, after a successful 10-month deployment overseas.

The 730th, which is based in Memphis, is a quartermaster unit comprised of Guardsmen trained in various logistics and supply specialties which sustain combat units with water, fuel, food, and supplies. The unit deployed to Kuwait this past February and sent teams to countries in the Middle East to support other military forces.

“This unit really showed what the Tennessee Volunteer sprit truly is,” said Capt. Ciarra Rench, commander of the 730th Composite Supply Company. “We performed sustainment missions throughout Kuwait, Jordan, and various other countries and performed other combat tasks like guarding the Port of Shuaiba just south of Kuwait City.”

On Thursday, Dec. 14, the Soldiers are scheduled to arrive by aircraft at Nashville International Airport and then travel by bus to Smyrna’s Volunteer Training Site where they will be reunited with their families. Once the Soldiers arrive in Smyrna, their families, friends, and fellow service members will welcome them home before completing a short in-processing, after which they will be released.

“Our Soldiers performed professionally these many months and are looking forward to getting home and being with their families,” said Rench. “I could not be prouder of all their hard work and how well they represented our state.”

The Soldiers are currently at Fort Cavazos, Texas, where they are demobilizing and out-processing.
