Colonel Alfred J. “Jason” Fleming was born in Covington, Tennessee. Col. Fleming holds a M.S. in Strategic Studies from the U.S. War College and a B.S. in Natural Resources Management from the University of Tennessee at Martin.
Col. Fleming enlisted as an Infantryman in the Tennessee Army National Guard in August 1989. He was the Distinguished Honor Graduate from Infantry One Station Unit Training at FT Benning, GA in February 1990. He received his commission as a Second Lieutenant from the Tennessee Military Academy in 1991. A graduate of Class 34, he received the Adjutant General’s Trophy for highest academic standing.
In the summer of 2005, he deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom with the 196th Field Artillery Brigade.
Col. Fleming’s military education includes U.S. Army War College, Command and General Staff College, Combined Arms and Services Staff School, Ordnance Officer Transition Course, Field Artillery Officer Advance Course, Infantry Officer Basic Course, Support Operations Course, and Company Level Commanders Course.
