Lieutenant Colonel Wade Reed currently serves as the commander of the 117^th Regiment, Regional Training Institute (RTI) in Smyrna, Tennessee. He commands the overall operation of the RTI which includes a Military Police Battalion, an Armor Battalion with a modular OCS Company and a Quartermaster Battalion.

The 117th Regiment (RTI) programs and provides institutional training within assigned Career Management Fields (CMF's), NCOES, and OCS missions based on the collective requirements identified by the One Army School System (OASS), NGB-ART-I (Individual Training Branch), the Army Program for Individual Training (ARPRINT) for the Army National Guard, the United States Army Reserve (USAR), the Active Component (AC).
