Brigadier General Todd A. Wiles

Brig. Gen. Todd A. Wiles serves as the Chief of Staff, Tennessee Air National Guard. As Chief of Staff, Brig. Gen. Wiles is responsible for the implementation of the Tennessee Air National Guard strategic vision and the leadership of Joint Force Headquarters air staff. Wiles provides strategic counsel and management for the entire Tennessee Air National Guard, comprising over 3,400 Airmen located at three Wings and two Geographically Separated Units across the state.
Wiles was born in Richmond, Kentucky. He entered the Air Force in June 1995 as a Distinguished Graduate of Western Kentucky University’s Air Force ROTC program. He has been as-signed to numerous active-duty, Air Force Reserve, and Air National Guard fighter squadrons, as well as a tour as the 2d Brigade Air Liaison Officer, Third Infantry Division during the invasion of Iraq in 2003. He was also the Deputy Commander and Commander of the 118th Operations Group.
His previous assignment was as the Commander of the 118th Wing at Berry Field Air National Guard Base, in Nashville, TN. The mission of the 118th Wing is to provide the United States Air Force with persistent intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance and combat capability. Additionally, he was responsible for wartime readiness and mission execution of all Airmen across assigned combat and support missions. The 118th Wing is the only ANG base that combines Group operations across remotely piloted aircraft, targeting, and cyber disciplines under one Wing. The 118th Wing provides combat capability to combatant commanders and emergency response resources to the Governor during times of emergency.
As a qualified, combat mission ready MQ-9 instructor pilot, he flew CAS, SCAR, and ISR missions in support of combat operations. He has over 4,300 hours of flight time flying various aircraft to include the F-16 Fighting Falcon, AT-38 Talon, T-37 Tweet, T-3 Firefly, MQ-9 Reaper, Boeing 757/767/787, and Airbus A320.
