About the Hawthorn Hill State Historic Site

This circa 1806 masonry I-house with a rare hall-and-parlor floor plan has been undergoing restoration for the past three years. Much of the early interior stenciling and wall finishes have survived intact and have been revealed and conserved or professionally restore following paint analysis. The site's interior is being interpreted with no furniture, so that the focus is on the architectural details. The site features exterior interpretive signage.
