Knox Area Rescue Ministries (KARM) in Knoxville has suspended their volunteer services at this time. However, they are still serving vulnerable populations (primarily homeless). Hamilton County Schools have activated their buses to deliver meals across the county to school-based meal sites. Bus drivers need one colunteer per bus to assist in handing out meals at each drop off location. Volunteers are also needed for meal preparation on Thursdays and Fridays.
The City of Chattanooga is seeking assistance with their Senior Citizen Virtual Phone Bank. Volunteers would make phone calls to locals who fall within the at-risk population for COVID-19. Volunteers would also check in to see how residents are doing and if they ahve any unmet needs.
