HENNING – A visitor to the West Tennessee State Penitentiary (WTSP) has been arrested on charges related to introduction of contraband into the facility. On Sunday afternoon, visitor Diane Dotson was arrested by TDOC Special Agent Damario Avery for Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance, Felony Introduction into a Penal Facility, and Misdemeanor Simple Possession of Marijuana.
NASHVILLE - After 38 years of dedicated service to the Tennessee Department of Correction, Commissioner Tony Parker has announced his retirement, effective this fall. Parker began his career as a correctional officer and rose through the ranks to Commissioner following his initial appointment by former Governor Bill Haslam in 2016 and re-appointment by Governor Bill Lee in 2019.
MEMPHIS – The gymnasium at the Mark Luttrell Transition Center (MLTC) was filled with hopeful faces as the first in-person resource fair since last March returned to the facility.

The academy is a five-week program designed to give Tennesseans an in-depth look at the state’s largest law enforcement agency. Nashville – Death row inmate Steven L. Hugueley has passed away of apparent natural causes. Hugueley, 53, was pronounced deceased at Riverbend Maximum Security Institution at 2:35am Friday, July 16.
