Deirdre Smith

Deirdre Smith was promoted in July 2026 to assistant director of the Department of Revenue’s Taxpayer Services Division. Smith joined the department in 2008 and previously managed the General Call Center and Maintenance Unit within Taxpayer Services. A Memphis native, Smith earned a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Fisk University. She lives in Franklin with her husband and six children.
