Firefighter I
Overview: The Firefighter I program is for the individuals who are preparing to, or entering the fire service. The class focuses on providing an understanding of the roles and responsibilities of a firefighter trained at the basic level.
The purpose of this course is to meet or exceed the requirements of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 1001, Standard for Firefighter Professional Qualifications (2013 Edition) for Firefighter I through successful completion of the course materials and associated performance objectives.

Course Objectives
· Student will be able to certify as a Firefighter I in accordance with the Standard for Firefighter Professional Qualifications 2013 edition and TN Commission on Firefighting upon successful testing during the class.

This course requires a high degree of physical fitness and the ability to cope with physically and mentally demanding situations.
