2021 Residential Building Inspector (7)
Overview: This 7-hour course provides participants with a practical understanding of basic residential construction principles, with an emphasis on wood-frame construction as regulated by the 2021 International Residential Code (IRC). The course is designed to give students foundational knowledge of general residential construction requirements and the proper use and application of the 2021 IRC. Topics include foundation wall construction, structural framing components, floor and roof systems, means of egress, and fire-resistance and separation requirements. Participants will learn how to interpret and apply key IRC provisions related to residential building design, construction, and inspection.
