Research, Policy, & Planning
The Research, Policy, & Planning Division (RPP) provides information and data analysis to support the Board of Parole. RPP ensures that accurate and timely data is available to Board Members, Hearings Officers and senior staff in order to promote data-driven decision making and the Board's planning process. In addition to supporting the Board, RPP responds to information requests from stakeholders outside of BOP, including the State Attorney General's Office, the media, victims and their families, offenders and their families, and the general public.
Other services provided by RPP include:
- Policy development,
- Form development and maintenance,
- Reviewing outside research proposals,
- Monitoring criminal justice trends, and
- Conducting research requested by the Board.
