If you have information about potential violations of antitrust laws, allegations of price-fixing, bid rigging or other anti-competitive activities, please contact the Consumer Protection Division at (615) 741-1671.

The Division of Consumer Affairs (DCA), now housed in the Attorney General’s Office, works to handle consumer complaints and educate consumers on the latest scams and threats that could cause harm. Tennessee Public Chapter 1127 provides that an online complaint form shall be available on this Office’s website for use by persons alleged to have been aggrieved by the Tennessee Human Rights Commission pursuant to its authority under Tennessee Code Annotated, Title 4, Chapter 21...click here to report complaints about the Tennessee Human Rights Commission.

If you have information about a health care provider (for example, a physician, hospital, etc.) committing fraud against Tennessee’s Medicaid program (known as TennCare), please call the Attorney General’s Medicaid Fraud and Integrity Unit (MFIU) at 615-741-1382.  If you are a health care provider, self-reporting a potential violation to MFIU will carry considerable weight in the assessment of damages or civil penalties.  If you are employed by a provider who has committed TennCare fraud, and you report the fraud, your employer will be prohibited by law from retaliating against you because of the report.  Tenn. Code Ann. § 71-5-183(g).

Other State agencies also investigate TennCare fraud.  You can report TennCare fraud, as well as abuse of TennCare patients, to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation’s Medicaid Fraud Control Division.  TennCare fraud committed by TennCare beneficiaries can be reported to the Office of Inspector General.

Code Ann. §§ 67-4-2601, et seq., and/or other tobacco laws, regulations or rules is encouraged to call the Tobacco Enforcement hotline at (615) 532-9480 (for local calls) or (800) 890-8366.

The hotline is set up to receive information and comments by voicemail. Messages are checked daily, and callers are not required to identify themselves when leaving a message.
