NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
The Tennessee Department of Transportation will conduct a National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) public hearing on September 20, 2018 at the South Jackson Community Center, 412 Highway 18 (Bolivar Highway), Jackson, TN 38301 to discuss project number 57LPLM-F0-005, Southern Extension of SR-186 and the US 45 Bypass in Jackson as shown on the general location map.
The proposed project will extend SR-186 and US 45 Bypass from SR-1 (US 70/Airways Boulevard) to SR-5 (US 45/South Highland Avenue). The new four-lane roadway will run south from SR-1 along Riverside Drive before heading eastwardly just south of Bemis Cemetery Road to intersect with SR-5. A new interchange will provide access from SR-5 to the new Bypass. Displays will be presented illustrating the location and design features of the project.
The meeting will be held from 4:30 – 6:30 p.m. during which time there will be a presentation followed by an open forum with displays and representatives from TDOT and consulting engineers for the project to answer questions. The public is invited to ask questions and make comments during the meeting.
