Middle Tennessee Weekly Construction Lane Closures, June 28-July 4, 2018

NOTICE: TDOT will suspend all construction-related lane closures on interstates and state routes beginning at 12:00 p.m. Friday, June 29, through 6:00 a.m. Thursday, July 5, to provide maximum roadway capacity for July 4th holiday travelers.

CHEATHAM-ROBERTSON-DAVIDSON COUNTIES, I-24 Resurfacing

·        Thursday June 28, 8PM-6AM, There will be lane closures on I-24 in both directions, between mile markers 24 and 37, for milling and paving operations. State Troopers will be utilized for traffic control.

DAVIDSON COUNTY, I-40 Resurfacing from Cheatham County Line to US 70S (SR 1)

·        Thursday June 28, 8PM-5AM, There will be alternating lane closures on I-40 in both directions, between mile markers 191 and 196, for paving operations. One lane will remain open in each direction.

DAVIDSON COUNTY, I-40 Resurfacing from west of Church Street to east of Arlington Avenue

·        Thursday June 28, 8PM-5AM, There will be alternating lane closures on I-40 in both directions, at 2nd and 4th Avenues, for expansion joint removal. One lane will remain open.

DAVIDSON COUNTY, SR 1 Grading, Drainage, Signals, and Paving from Vultee Boulevard to Jupiter Drive

·        Thursday June 28, 9AM-3PM and Friday June 29, 9AM-12PM, There will be intermittent lane closures on Murfreesboro Road in both directions, between Vultee Blvd and Jupiter Drive, for box culvert deliveries. At least one lane will remain open at all times.

DAVIDSON COUNTY, SR 1 (Murfreesboro Pike/Lafayette Street) MTA TSP Bus Work (Local Project)

·        Thursday June 28, 9AM-3PM and Friday June 29, 9AM-12PM, There will be an alternating shoulder and lane closures on Murfreesboro Pike in both directions, between Polk Avenue and Harding Place, for Sidewalk work. Cones, signage, and traffic control will be utilized. At least one lane will remain open.

·        Thursday June 28, 9AM-3PM and Friday June 29, 9AM-12PM, There will be an alternating shoulder and lane closures on Murfreesboro Pike in both directions between, Polk Avenue and Bell Road for installing traffic signals. Cones, signage, and traffic control will be utilized. At least one lane will remain open.

·        Thursday June 28, 9AM-3PM and Friday June 29, 9AM-12PM, There will be an alternating shoulder and lane closures on Murfreesboro Pike in both directions, between Foster Avenue and Bell Road, for excavation, directional drilling, and pouring foundations. Cones, signage, and traffic control will be utilized. At least one lane will remain open.

·        Thursday June 28, 9AM-3PM and Friday June 29, 9AM-12PM, There will be an alternating shoulder and lane closures on SR 254 (Bell Road) in both directions, between Murfreesboro Pike and Hickory Hollow Lane, for excavation and directional drilling. Cones, signage, and traffic control will be utilized. At least one lane will remain open.

·        Thursday June 28, 9AM-3PM and Friday June 29, 9AM-12PM, There will be an alternating shoulder and lane closures on Lafayette Street in both directions, between 2nd Avenue and Arlington Avenue, for utility work. Cones, signage, and traffic control will be utilized. At least one lane will remain open.

·        Thursday June 28, 9AM-3PM and Friday June 29, 9AM-12PM, There will be an alternating shoulder and lane closures on Murfreesboro Pike in both directions, between Lester Avenue and UNA-Antioch Pike, for paving. Cones, signage, and traffic control will be utilized. At least one lane will remain open.

DAVIDSON-SUMNER COUNTIES, SR 386 (Vietnam Veterans Boulevard) Resurfacing from I-65 to Forest Retreat Road

·        Thursday June 28, 8PM-5AM, There will be lane closures on Vietnam Veterans Pkwy in both directions, from mile marker 0.00 in Davidson County to mile marker 4.30 in Sumner County, for paving and epoxy overlay.

o   Friday, July 6 at 8PM through Monday, July 9 at 5AM, There will be lane closures on Vietnam Veterans Pkwy, from mile marker 0.00 in Davidson County to mile marker 4.30 in Sumner County, for epoxy overlay. One lane in each direction will remain open at all times.

DICKSON-WILLIAMSON COUNTY, I-40 East Construction of Truck Climbing Lane near Mile Marker 180

·        Thursday, June 28 through Wednesday, July 4 (continuous), There will be a temporary shoulder closure on I-40 East, between mile markers 180 and 183, in order to construct a new truck climbing lane.

HICKMAN COUNTY, I-40 Bridge Repair over State Route 230

·        Thursday, June 28 through Wednesday, July 4 (continuous), There will be a temporary shoulder closure on I-40 in both directions, between mile markers 151 and 153, in order to widen the bridges over SR 230.

MAURY COUNTY, New Interchange Construction at SR 166 and US 43 (SR 6/Lawrenceburg Hwy), including a concrete bulb-tee beam bridge in Mount Pleasant

·        Thursday June 28, 9AM- 3:30PM and Friday June 29, 9AM-12PM, There will be temporary lane closures and rolling roadblocks on US 43 for bridge deck welding, blasting and striping activities.

MAURY COUNTY, SR 247 Bridge Repair over Leipers Creek

·        Thursday, June 28 through Wednesday, July 4 (continuous), SR 247 will be reduced to one lane at the bridge over Leipers Creek for bridge repair. Temporary traffic signals will control traffic.

MAURY-WILLIAMSON COUNTIES, SR 247 (Duplex Road) from US 31 to Scheduled Lane

·        Thursday June 28, 9AM-3:30PM and Friday, June 29 9AM-12PM, There will be temporary lane closures on Duplex Road, between US 31 and Scheduled Lane, for paving and widening activities.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, SR 149 and SR 13 Grading, Drainage, and Construction of Bridge, Retaining Wall and Paving from River Road to Zinc Plant Road

·        Thursday June 28, 9AM-3PM and Friday June 29, 9AM-12PM, There will be periodic flagging operations along SR 13 and SR 149 for clearing operations.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, SR 374 (Warfield Boulevard) Widening from South of Dunbar Cave Road to West of Stokes Road

·        Thursday June 28, 9AM-3:30PM, There will be intermittent road closures for pre-split blasting. All traffic will be halted during the blasting process until all debris is removed from roadway.

ROBERTSON COUNTY, New Interchange Construction on I-65 at SR 109

·        Now through July 2018 (continuous), The inside lane of I-65 northbound, between mile markers 118 and 121, will be closed for removal of existing median wall and construction of new overhead signs. Two lanes will remain open in each direction.  

·        Thursday June 28, 9AM-3PM, There will be temporary lane closure on SR 109 near I-65 for paving operations. One lane will remain open.

RUTHERFORD COUNTY, I-24 Resurfacing from near Rocky Fork Road to near Baker Road

·        Thursday June 28, 8PM-5AM, There will be temporary lane closures on I-24 in both directions, between mile markers 68 and 71, for cold planning, paving, and striping operations. One lane will remain open at all times.

RUTHERFORD COUNTY, SR 266 (Sam Ridley Parkway) Resurfacing from I-24 Interchange to Threet Industrial Road

·        Thursday June 28, 8PM-5AM, There will be alternating lane closures on SR266 (Sam Ridley Parkway) and US 41 (US 70/SR1) for milling, paving, signalization and casting adjustments. One lane will remain open in each direction.

RUTHERFORD-WILSON COUNTIES, I-840 Resurfacing from East Fork Stones River Bridge in Rutherford County to North of the Wilson County Line

·        Thursday June 28, 8PM-5AM, There will be temporary lane closures on I-840 in both directions, between mile markers 60 and 65, for shoulder stone and traffic counter installation. One lane will remain open at all times.

SMITH COUNTY, I-40 Construction of Truck Climbing Lane

·        Thursday June 28, 8PM-6AM, The inside lane of I-40 West, between mile markers 250 and 253, will be closed for guardrail installation activities. Eastbound lanes will not be affected. One lane will remain open.

SMITH COUNTY, SR 25 Rockfall Mitigation

·        Now through August 2018, SR 25 will be reduced to one lane near mile marker 9.6 for rock buttress work. Traffic will be controlled by temporary traffic signal.   

·        Thursday June 28, 9AM-2PM and Friday June 29, 9AM-12PM, There will be a temporary road closure on SR 25 for blasting operations. This operation should take no more than 30 minutes.

SUMNER COUNY, SR 109 Retaining Wall Construction from Odom's Bend to the SR 109 Bypass of South of Gallatin

·        Thursday June 28, 9AM-3PM and Friday June 29, 9AM-12PM, There will be temporary lane closures on SR 109 in both directions, between Odom’s Bend and the bypass, for construction activities. One lane will remain open at all times.

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Intersection Safety Improvements at SR 106 (US 431/Lewisburg Pike) and Critz Lane

·        Thursday June 28, 9AM-3:30PM and Friday June 29, 9AM-12PM, There will be temporary lane closures on SR 166 near Critz Lane for trucks hauling material on site for paving operations.

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, SR 6 (Franklin Road) Grading, Drainage, and Paving from south of Moores Lane to Concord Road

·        Thursday June 28, 9AM-3PM and Friday June 29, 9AM-12PM, There will be alternating temporary lane closures and/or intermittent stoppages of traffic (one direction at a time) on Franklin Road, between Moore’s Lane and Concord Road, for various construction activities.

WILSON COUNTY, SR1 09 Reconstruction from North of US 70 (SR24) to South of the Cumberland River

·        Thursday June 28, 9:30AM-3:30PM and Friday June 29, 9AM-12PM, There will be periodic flagging operations along SR 109, between US 70 and the Cumberland River, in order for clearing, truck crossings and utility work.  Old LaGuardo Road will be CLOSED for approximately 3 hours to open cut for a water line. Traffic will be able to use the access road north of cut.

WILSON COUNTY, SR 141 (Hartsville Pike) Widening from South of Spring Creek to North of Lovers Lane

·        Thursday June 28, 6AM-6PM and Friday June 29, 9AM-12PM, There will be temporary lane closures on SR 141, between Spring Creek and Lovers Lane, for blasting and construction activities. One lane will remain open.

SUMNER COUNTY

·        Thursday June 28, 9AM-3PM and Friday June 29, 9AM-12PM, There will be possible rolling roadblocks SR 386 (Vietnam Veterans Pkwy) at the Wynbrooke subdivision for blasting work. Traffic control will be utilized.

WILSON COUNTY

·        Thursday June 28, 9AM-3PM and Friday June 29, 9AM-12PM, There will be rolling roadblocks on I-40 East, between mile markers 231 and 235, for blasting work.

·        Thursday June 28, 9AM-3PM and Friday June 29, 9AM-12PM, There will be rolling roadblocks on SR 109, between Callis Road and I-40, for rock blasting and excavation. Additionally, traffic will be reduced to one lane in both directions at the intersection of SR 109 and Callis Road for construction of turn lane and cross over. Flaggers will be utilized.

 

Motorists are encouraged to use caution and obey reduced speed limits in all TDOT work zones, regardless of lane closure activity.  Information in this report is provided to the Department of Transportation by the contractors.  Most work is weather dependent and subject to change due to inclement weather.
