Weekly West Tennessee Construction Report for June 20-27, 2018

In observance of the 4th of July Holiday, there will be NO Interstate or State Route Closures beginning at noon Friday, June 29 until 6:00 a. m. Thursday, July 5, 2018.

 

District 47 - West TN - Northern

BENTON COUNTY, SR 69: A resurfacing project on SR 69 from SR 391 to Rocky Ridge Road will cause possible lane closures throughout the project.

 

CARROLL COUNTY, SR 104: The grading, drainage, paving and construction of a bridge on

SR 104 over Grassy Hollow Creek. Roadway is CLOSED for duration of project.

 

CARROLL COUNTY, SR 423: The grading, drainage, construction of a concrete I-beam bridge on

SR 423 over Clear Creek. Motorists should watch for trucks entering and exiting the roadway.

Restrictions: Monday, February 12, a traffic signal system is being utilized. Traffic is reduced to one lane in with a 10’ lane restriction.

 

DYER COUNTY, SR-3/US-51: Repair of bridges over South Fork Forked Deer River. Motorists should watch for trucks entering and exiting the roadway in a construction zone. Traffic is reduced to one lane on US 51 (SR 3) in both north and southbound directions, from LM 24.73 to LM 25.00 in Lauderdale County and LM 0.00 to LM 0.40 in Dyer County. SR-3/US-51 northbound traffic is then shifted to the southbound lanes in the crossover areas. *Speed limit is reduced to 45 MPH through the US 51 portion of the project.

Restrictions: There is a 12’ 10” lane restriction.

 

DYER COUNTY, SR-20 (US 412): Repair of bridges over North Fork Forked Deer River. *Speed limit has been reduced to 55 MPH.

Restrictions: Traffic is reduced to one lane in each direction with a 12’ lane restriction.

 

DYER COUNTY, SR-20 (US 412): Repair of bridges over Lewis Creek. Motorists should watch for trucks entering and exiting the roadway.

On Monday, May 7, SR 20 was shifted into the westbound direction from LM 2.16 to LM 2.74 for bridge repair. Construction signs and message boards are in use.

Restrictions: Traffic is reduced to one lane in each direction with a 12’ lane restriction.

 

HENRY COUNTY, SR-54: The grading, drainage, construction of bridges, retaining wall and paving on SR 54 from near Rison Street to near Smith Road. Motorists should watch for trucks entering and exiting the roadway. *Speed limit has been reduced to 35MPH.

 

LAKE COUNTY, SR-78: Construction of a concrete Bulb-Tee bridge on SR 78 over drainage ditch including grading, drainage, and paving will cause possible lane closures throughout the project.

Restrictions: Tuesday, August 1, 2017 through November 30, 2018, a traffic signal system is being utilized. Traffic is reduced to one lane in each direction with a 9’ lane restriction.

 

OBION COUNTY, Future I-69: Grading, drainage, construction of eight bridges on future I-69 from south of US 51 (SR 3) to south of US 45W (SR 5) will cause possible lane closures throughout the project. *Speed limit is reduced to 45 MPH through the US 51 (SR 3) portion of the project. The inside southbound lane on SR 3 is closed to all traffic for installation of barrier rail.

Restrictions: Tuesday, June 13, 2017 SR 3 has a lane shift in the north and southbound directions. Traffic is reduced to one lane in each direction with a 11’ 6” lane restriction.

 

OBION COUNTY, SR-5: A resurfacing project on SR 5 from US 51 (SR 3) to the Kentucky State line will cause possible lane closures throughout the project.

 

OBION COUNTY, SR-21: A resurfacing project on SR 21 from SR 183 to US 51 (SR 3) will cause possible lane closures throughout the project.

 

OBION COUNTY, SR-184: A resurfacing project on SR 184 from SR 21 to Church Street will cause possible lane closures throughout the project.

 

TDOT Region IV Random Retracing Contract: A retracing project in Shelby Co. on various routes will cause possible lane closures for the duration of project.

 

District 48 - West TN – Middle/Southern

CHESTER/MCNAIRY COUNTIES, SR-22A; A resurfacing project on SR 22A in McNairy County through Chester County to the Henderson County line will cause possible lane closures throughout the project.

 

CHESTER COUNTY, SR 200: The resurfacing on SR 200 from Rabbit Ranch Rd. (LM 3.05) to the Henderson Co. line (LM 10.84) will cause possible lane closures throughout the project.

 

CROCKETT COUNTY, SR 76: The grading, drainage, paving and construction of bridges on

SR 76 over Cypress Creek and overflow. On February 7, 2018, a traffic signal system is being utilized.

Restriction: There is an 11’ width restriction in place. Traffic reduced to one lane.

 

DECATUR COUNTY, SR 69:  On February 7, 2018 there was a lane closure on SR 69 to repair the bridge over Lick Creek. Temporary signals will be in use.

Restriction: There is a 12’ width restriction in place.

 

DECATUR COUNTY, SR 20 (US 412): The repair of a bridge on US 412 (SR 20) over the Tennessee River will cause possible lane closures throughout the project. Motorist should watch for flagmen.

 

FAYETTE COUNTY, I-40: The grading, drainage, construction of a concrete bulb-tee bridge and paving on I-40 at the SR 196 (Hickory Withe Road) interchange. Motorists should watch for trucks entering and exiting the roadway.

Thursday, June 21, 8:00 p.m.-6:00 a.m.: There will be temporary lane closures on I-40 eastbound from MM 28.0 to MM 30.0 for the placement of temporary barrier rail, paving, and placement of pavement markings. Traffic will be reduced to one lane in the eastbound direction with a 60MPH speed limit. THP to assist with traffic control. Weather Permitting.

Backup date Saturday June 23, 6:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.

 

HARDEMAN COUNTY, SR-57: A resurfacing project on SR 57 from Old Rogers Spring Road to

SR 125 will cause possible lane closures throughout the project.

 

HARDEMAN COUNTY, SR-100: Intersection improvements, including the grading, drainage and paving SR 100 at the intersection of SR 138 (LM 11.74) in Toone will cause possible lane closures throughout the project.

 

Monday, June 11, through Monday, June 25: SR 138 South of the SR 138/SR 100 intersection will be closed to through traffic. A detour will be posted.

 

HARDIN COUNTY, SR-128: The grading, drainage, and paving on SR 128 from south of One Stop Drive to south of Opel Loop. Motorists should watch for trucks entering and exiting the roadway from the construction zones and also crossing the roadways.

 

HAYWOOD COUNTY-SR-19 (Brownsville Bypass): A widening project on SR 19 from west of Windrow Road to SR 76 south of Brownsville will cause possible lane closures throughout the project. Motorists should watch for trucks entering and exiting the roadway from the construction zones and also crossing the roadways.

 

HAYWOOD COUNTY–SR-76: Construction of a concrete bulb tee beam bridge over the Hatchie River – Wednesday, May 3, 2017 SR 76 CLOSED approx. 1 mile south of the I-40/Exit 56 interchange for removal of the truss bridge. *Local traffic will have access up to the bridge. An interstate detour is posted at Exit 56 and Exit 52 (Stanton/KoKo Road).

 

HAYWOOD COUNTY-I-40:  Sunday, June 24, through Thursday, June 28, 7:00 p.m.-6:00 a.m.: There will be temporary inside and outside lane closures on I-40 east and westbound near Koko Rd to the SR 19 (Mercer Rd) ramp for milling and paving operations.

 

HENDERSON COUNTY, SR-104: The resurfacing on SR 104 from the Carroll County line to south of Rock Milam Road will cause possible lane closures throughout the project.

 

MADISON COUNTY, SR-186 (US 45 Bypass) and I-40: Interchange improvements on SR 186 (US 45) north and southbound from the I-40 ramps to Old Hickory Blvd for paving and construction of retaining walls.  Widening of I-40 from just east of Exit 79 to just east of Exit 82.

Saturday, June 23, and Sunday, June 24, 4:30 a. m.-5:00 p. m.: There will be intermittent lane closures on I-40 east and westbound between MM 79.0-80.5 for median work. Weather Permitting.

 

LOOK AHEAD:

Saturday, June 30 and Sunday, July 1: No scheduled closures in observance of Independence Day.

Also, we have the following that is non-TDOT work, but within the workzone:

Wednesday, June 20, 6:00 a. m. through Friday, June 23, 5:00 p. m.: The City of Jackson will close the outer most left turn on US 45, northbound, onto Vann Drive for work on Vann Drive at Old Country Club Ln.

 

MADISON COUNTY, I-40: Resurfacing from near US 70 (SR 1) mile marker 87 to Henderson County Line mile marker 95.

Sunday, June 24, through Thursday, June 28, 7:00 p.m.-6:00 a.m.: There will be intermittent lane closures on I-40 east and westbound, from MM 87 to MM 95 for milling and paving operations. One lane in each direction will remain open at all times.  Weather Permitting.

 

Region 4 On-Call Pavement Markings

Sunday, June 24, through Wednesday, June 27, 8:00 p.m.-6:00 a.m.: There will be night time I-40 lane closures east and westbound from MM 59.84 to MM 74.20 for the restriping of enhanced pavement marking lines. THP to assist with traffic control. Weather Permitting.

 

TDOT MAINTENANCE:

Wednesday, June 20, through Wednesday, June 27, 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.: There will be possible lane closures at various locations in Region IV in order to repair pavement on an as needed basis.

 

District 49 - West TN – Southwest

FAYETTE COUNTY, US 70 (US 79, SR-1): A bridge repair project on SR 1 over branch will result in lane closures in both directions daily.

 

FAYETTE COUNTY, SR-59 over I-40: A bridge repair project on US 70 (SR 79, SR 1) over branch and on SR 59 over I-40.

Wednesday, June 20 until Mid-Summer: SR 59 over I-40 (Exit 35) is CLOSED for demolition, repairs and replacement of the bridge deck. Detours will be signed. *Speed limit is reduced to 60 MPH on I-40.

Wednesday, June 20 through Tuesday, June 26, 7:00 p.m.-6:00 a.m.: There will be lane closures on I-40 west and eastbound directions at Exit 35 (SR 59) for concrete deck pour. One lane will remain open in both directions. *Speed limit is reduced to 50 MPH on I-40 during closure. THP will assist with traffic control. Weather Permitting.

LOOK AHEAD:

Thursday, July 5 and Friday, July 6, 7:00 p.m.-6:00 a.m.: CLOSE and detour I-40 east and westbound onto existing ramps at Exit 35 (SR 59) to allow concrete deck pour of SR 59 bridge over

I-40 each night. *Speed limit is reduced to 50 MPH during closure. THP will assist with traffic control. Weather Permitting.

 

FAYETTE COUNTY, SR-194: A resurfacing project on SR 194 from SR 57 to Whispering Meadows Drive will cause possible lane closures throughout the project.

 

FAYETTE COUNTY, I-40:

Sunday, June 24 through Thursday, June 28, 8:00 p. m.-6:00 a. m.: INTERMITTENT lane closures on I-40 east and westbound from Wolf River to east of the CSX overpass to perform the resurfacing work. One lane will be open in each direction. Weather permitting.

Thursday, July 5, 8:00 p. m.-6:00 a. m.: INTERMITTENT lane closures on I-40 east and westbound from Wolf River to east of the CSX overpass to perform the resurfacing work. One lane will be open in each direction.

 

SHELBY COUNTY – Light Installation:

Thursday, June 21 through Friday, June 29, 8:00 p.m.-8:00 a.m.: INTERMITTENT lane closures on I-40 westbound on the Mississippi River Bridge. There will be two (2) lanes CLOSED with one lane open to allow for light installation. Weather permitting.

 

SHELBY COUNTY – The repair of bridges on Riverside Drive over I-55 (L.M. 0.23):

Friday, June 22, 8:00 p.m. through Monday, June 25, 5:00 a.m.: I-55 north and southbound the two (2) outside lanes will be CLOSED to complete bridge work at Riverside Drive. Weather Permitting.

 

SHELBY COUNTY, I-240 Westbound Overhead Sign Installation:

Wednesday, June 20, through Friday, June 22, 8:00 p.m.–5:00 a.m.:  I-240 westbound will be reduced to one lane from Airways Blvd. (Exit 23) to Millbranch Road (Exit 24) to allow for the installation of the overhead sign structure.

Sunday, June 24, 6:00 a.m.–9:00 a.m.: There will be lane closures and rolling road blocks on the two (2) outside lanes of I-240 westbound from Airways Blvd. (Exit 23) to Millbranch Road (Exit 24) to stand new overhead sign structures.

 

SHELBY COUNTY, I-240 MemFix 4: Replacement of Norfolk Southern, SR 57 east and westbound bridges, and repair of Park Avenue bridge over I-240.

Park Avenue has one lane CLOSED on the westbound on Park Avenue Bridge over I-240.

I-240: There are shoulder closures in the westbound direction of I-240 east/west between Quince and Walnut Grove. The lane closures along I-240 east and westbound between Quince and Walnut Grove will stay in place throughout the project.

 

SHELBY COUNTY, Eastmoreland over I-240 (LM 0.36) and on U.S. 51 (SR 3) over the Wolf River (L.M. 15.25): Bridge repair will cause possible lane closures throughout the project.

 

Wednesday, June 20 until Mid-Summer:  There will be INTERMITTENT lane closures on US 51

(SR 3) at the Wolf River to perform bridge deck repair work. Weather Permitting.

 

Wednesday, June 20 until Mid-Summer:  The bridge over I-240 at Eastmoreland Avenue will be CLOSED to perform bridge deck repair work.  Detour will be provided.  Weather permitting.

 

Friday, June 22, 8:00 p.m. through Monday, June 25, 6:00 a.m.: Close two lanes on I-240 north and southbound with 1 lane to remain open, to make repairs to the Eastmoreland Bridge.  Detour will be provided. THP to assist.  Weather permitting.

 

SHELBY COUNTY, I-240/SR-385 Pothole Repair (Maintenance)

Thursday, June 21, 9:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.: INTERMITTENT lane closures on SR 385 east and westbound beginning at MM 0.00 (I-240 Junction) through MM 6.00 (Hacks Cross Road) to allow for pothole repair. Weather Permitting.

 

SHELBY COUNTY, Slide Repair (Maintenance)

Thursday, June 21 through Thursday, June 28, 9:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.: I-269 northbound “Off” ramp outside lane at Exit 2 to go SR 385 westbound will be CLOSED for slide repair. Weather Permitting.

Thursday, June 21 through Thursday, June 28, 9:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.: I-269 northbound “On” ramp outside lane at Exit 2 to SR385 eastbound will be CLOSED for slide repair. Weather Permitting.

 

SHELBY COUNTY, SR-1: Construction of a welded steel plate girder bridge on SR 1 over the Loosahatchie River will cause possible lane closures throughout the project.

 

SHELBY COUNTY, SR-14 (Austin Peay Hwy): Construction on SR 14 for a widening project from

SR 204 (Singleton Parkway) to east of Old Covington Pike. Shoulders are closed north and southbound. There will be possible temporary lane closures throughout the project.

On April 21, 2017, Old Covington Pike East access to/from SR 14 was permanently CLOSED.

*Speed limit has been reduced to 45 MPH.

 

SHELBY COUNTY, SR-14: The grading, drainage, construction of concrete Bulb-Tee and I-beam bridges, signals and paving on SR 14 from east of Old Covington Pike to SR 385 will cause possible lane closures throughout the project. *Speed limit has been reduced to 45 MPH.

 

SHELBY COUNTY, SR-57: Resurfacing on SR-57 from near I-240 to Val Verde.

Sunday, June 24 through Thursday, June 28, 7:00 p.m.-6:00 a.m.: There will be INTERMITTENT closures with one lane to remain open on SR 57 east and westbound to allow for resurfacing and safety improvements. Weather Permitting. 

 

 

 

SHELBY and FAYETTE COUNTY, SR-385 Sign Conversion for I-269:

Wednesday, June 20 through Tuesday, June 26, 8:00 p.m.-5:00 a.m.: There will be INTERMITTENT closures with one lane to be closed on I-40, and SR 385 for the installation of guardrail and earth pads and for covering signs. THP will assist with traffic control. Weather prohibiting, closures will be moved to the next available night.

 

SHELBY COUNTY, SR-385: A bridge repair project on (SR 385) over Long Rd. (LM 10.48 and

LM 11.94).

Wednesday, June 20 until Mid-Summer: SR 385 east and westbound the left lane in each direction will be CLOSED to complete bridge work at Long Road. *Speed limit has been reduced to 45MPH.

Restrictions: Traffic is reduced to one lane in each direction with a 12’ lane restriction and lane shift.

 

SHELBY COUNTY – The repair of the bridges on I-240 over Kerr Avenue (LM 3.09)

Friday, June 22, 8:00 p.m. through Monday, June 25, 6:00 a.m.: There will be INTERMITTENT lane closures with one lane to remain open on I-240 northbound (LM 3.09) and two lanes to remain open on I-240 southbound (LM 3.09) to allow for paving on the bridges. The I-240 southbound “On” ramp on College St. will be CLOSED. Detour will be provided. THP will assist with traffic control. Weather Permitting.

 

D49 MAINTENANCE:

Thursday, June 21, through Wednesday, June 27, 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.: There will be possible lane closures on all state and interstate routes for routine maintenance activities on an as needed basis.

 

TDOT District 49 On-Call Guardrail/Concrete Barrier Rail Repair:

Wednesday, June 20 through Tuesday, June 26 8:00 p.m.-6:00 a.m.:  There will be night time lane closures at the following various locations to repair damaged guardrail. THP will assist with traffic control. Weather prohibiting, closures will be moved to the next available night.

  • I-55, I-240, I-40 (Fayette and Shelby Counties), SR 3 (Tipton and Shelby Counties), and

SR 385. One lane will be CLOSED.

 

Wednesday, June 20, through Tuesday, June 26, 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.: There will be day time lane closures at the following various locations to repair damaged guardrail. If weather prohibits, the repairs will be performed on the next available day. Flagmen will be used where necessary. Weather Permitting.

  • Lauderdale Co., SR 209 east and westbound, MM 0.0–MM 19.0, various locations; One lane will be CLOSED.
  • Lauderdale Co., SR 19 east and westbound, MM 0.0–MM 26.0, various locations; One lane will be CLOSED.
  • Lauderdale Co., SR 371 north and southbound, MM 1.4; One lane will be CLOSED
  • Tipton Co., SR 3 north and southbound, MM 0.0–MM 25.0, various locations; Shoulder closure ONLY.

 

TIPTON COUNTY, SR-178: A resurfacing project on SR 178 from US 51 (SR 3) to Starnes Road will cause possible lane closures throughout the project.
