MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Tennessee Department of Transportation contract crews are closing the intersection of State Route 1 (Broad Street) and State Route 10/96 (Memorial Boulevard/Old Fort Parkway) this weekend in Murfreesboro to set girders for the Bridge over Broad project.

The closure will be in place from Friday, July 28, at 8PM through Monday, July 31, at 5AM.

There will be a signed detour provided around the downtown for area for through traffic. Drivers will be able to access businesses around the intersection closure. Law enforcement officers will help direct traffic as needed.

Contract crews will need two weekends to set the girders. The second weekend closure has been tentatively scheduled for Friday, August 4 at 8PM through Monday, August 7, at 5AM.

The $17.6 million project calls for a bridge on Memorial Boulevard over Broad Street, which will provide congestion relief at the intersection. The project is on schedule to be completed in December.
