High-Impact Interstate Lane Closures in Middle Tennessee this Weekend

Friday, May 20, 2016 | 10:01am

It’s paving season in Tennessee, and this weekend there are two major interstate projects in the mid-state area that will have a significant impact on weekend travel. Drivers should take note of the following scheduled construction activity on Interstate 24 in the Clarksville area and Interstate 40 in the Lebanon area.

  • Friday, May 20, 8:00 p.m. through Monday, May 23, 3:00 a.m. - I-24 will be closed in both directions at SR 237 (Exit 8/Rossview Road) in Montgomery County for milling and paving. Detoured traffic will utilize the on- and off-ramps at Rossview Road. The SR 237 bridge over I-24 will also be closed to allow interstate traffic to maintain flow across the ramps.
  • Sunday, May 22, 6:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. - I-40 East at mile marker 230 in Wilson County will be reduced to one lane for milling and paving operations.

Previously scheduled work on I-65 North at the Trinity Lane bridge, north of downtown Nashville, has been postponed. Weekend lane closures will resume after the Memorial Day holiday.
