MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Tennessee Department of Transportation will have temporary closures on sections of the interstate system this week as crews continue to work on the new interchange. This work is part of the I-40/I-240 interchange improvement project. The closures are necessary for crews to safely work underneath the new I-40 flyover.

Saturday, July 11 and Sunday, July 12 each day from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

The following will be CLOSED:

I-240 eastbound to I-40 westbound. Traffic will be detoured to Whitten Road. A detour map is attached.

The work is weather dependent. Should inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances prevent this work from occurring as scheduled, it will be rescheduled. Truck traffic should use SR 385 as an alternate route.
