NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) is excited to announce a contest to see who can come up with the best holiday travel safety message for the Dynamic Message Signs you see on the interstates. The contest gives Tennessee motorists a chance to help the department raise awareness about various safety issues and save lives.

Nashville, Tenn. – The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) and its safety partners have signed a new Strategic Highway Safety Plan (SHSP) for Tennessee committing to reducing serious injuries and deaths on roadways. The goal of the SHSP is to take a proactive approach towards zero deaths. Updated every four years, the 2025-2029 plan includes the first Vulnerable Road User (VRU) Safety Assessment.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Thanksgiving travelers will not be delayed by construction on Tennessee roads during this holiday. TDOT will halt all lane closure activity on interstates and state highways in anticipation of higher traffic volumes across the state. All construction-related lane closures will be stopped beginning at noon on Wednesday, November 27, through 6:00 a.m. on Monday, December 2, 2024.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Department of Transportation’s (TDOT) Nobody Trashes Tennessee (NTT) campaign announces its fourth annual No Trash November, a month-long statewide initiative encouraging Tennesseans to participate in cleanup events in their communities. Last year’s campaign included more than 150 events with over 2,200 volunteers who collected more than 86,000 pounds of litter from the state’s roadways.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Department of Transportation’s (TDOT) Nobody Trashes Tennessee (NTT) litter prevention campaign is rolling out its new patch this fall for Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts that conduct litter cleanups in their communities. Launched in 2023, the patch program recognizes scouts for their efforts to help keep their communities clean and safe.
