Ramp from I-26 West to I-81 South to be Closed this Weekend

Motorists traveling on I-26 West and I-81 South in Sullivan County should be aware of upcoming road construction activities that will have a temporary impact on traffic.

Beginning at 7 p.m. on Friday, July 25, the off-ramp from I-26 West to I-81 South at Exit 8A (Knoxville) will be closed. I-26 West traffic heading to I-81 South will be directed to Exit 6 (State Route 347/Rock Springs Road), then to I-26 East, and then back to Exit 8A (Knoxville) to access I-81 South.

This ramp closure will be in place until 6 a.m. on Monday, July 28.

This schedule is contingent on favorable weather conditions.  Motorists are advised to expect delays and use extreme caution in this area as workers will be present.
