Skinner Mountain Wildlife Management Area

The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) worked in partnership with The Conservation Fund to conserve the 14,769-acre Skinner Mountain Forest Property, including the acquisition of nearly 3,035 acres of critical wildlife habitat. This project resulted in opening new public recreational access for activities like hiking and wildlife viewing; protecting critical habitat for endangered species; supporting the local economy through sustainably harvested timber production; and conservation of ecologically-sensitive forests in the Cumberland Plateau region.
