NASHVILLE--Tennessee Department of Financial Institutions Commissioner Greg Gonzales announced today that the maximum effective formula rate of interest in Tennessee is 11.50 percent per annum. The rate is based on a ceiling of 4 percent over the weekly average prime loan rate of 7.50 percent as published by the Federal Reserve on February 24, 2025.

"Welcome Lafayette, Friend of Liberty" is now open in the Tennessee State Museum’s Corridor Gallery on the second level of its Nashville location. This temporary display highlights artifacts related to the Marquis de Lafayette’s stop in Tennessee during his farewell tour of the United States and the impact of his visit on Tennesseans. The Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) helped hundreds of drivers as a winter storm impacted Tennessee on February 18 and 19. Troopers worked tirelessly to assist stranded motorists, clear roadways, and investigate incidents amid hazardous conditions. Statewide, THP responded to 195 crashes, assisted 289 stranded motorists, and addressed 45 abandoned vehicles and 14 roadway obstructions. State Troopers also investigated two fatal crashes occurred during the time period.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The recent heavy rains and winter weather have created an abundance of potholes along interstates and state routes. The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) has already enacted its statewide effort using all available resources, including contractors, to repair the damaged areas as quickly as possible.
