Maintenance Work Prompts Closures on Interstate 24 in Grundy County

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) maintenance crews will perform pipe repairs along I-24 East in Grundy County, resulting in temporary traffic impacts over two scheduled workdays.

Thursday, September 4, 2025
Rolling roadblocks and a shoulder closure will occur from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (local time) between mile marker 120 and mile marker 129.

Tuesday, September 9, 2025
Rolling roadblocks and a shoulder closure will occur from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (local time) in the same area.

These repairs will be conducted in the median of I-24 East, and I-24 Westbound traffic will not be affected.

Drivers should use caution when traveling through the area during these times and expect delays. This work is weather-dependent and may be rescheduled in case of inclement weather or other unforeseen conditions.
