Construction Activity Prompts Temporary Closure on SR 93 in Sullivan County
Motorists traveling on State Route 93 in Sullivan County should be aware of road construction activities that will affect traffic.
Beginning at 6 p.m. on Friday, September 5, State Route 93 will be temporarily closed in both directions between Murrell Lane and State Route 347 (Lone Star Road) as crews install a new culvert crossing.
Signage will be in place to direct motorists around the work zone. Northbound traffic on State Route 93 should take I-81 North to Exit 57 and then take I-26 West to Exit 4. Southbound traffic on State Route 93 should take I-26 East to Exit 8A and then take I-81 South to Exit 50. Local traffic will still be able to access Derby Drive.
All work is expected to be complete by 6 a.m. on Sunday, September 8.
This schedule is contingent on favorable weather conditions. Motorists are advised to expect delays and use extreme caution in this area as workers will be present.
